I would also recommend a 1440p. Especially 144hz refresh. Something like the...

Also freesync is a very nice feature to have.

I got the IPS version of this monitor from micro center for a bit less than amazon a few months ago and love it.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF270HU-Cbmiiprzx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07CY137XM?th=1

Comes in TN or IPS and has freesync which has been nearly plug and play with my 1080 since Nvidea opened up Gsync compatibility.

ASUS are normally good. Not sure what you want but a good one for the price is https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07CY137XM/?ref=r4m_udw_co_ds_md for Acer
But the best possible one is probably
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07MVX3PKS/?ref=r4m_udw_co_us_md
From Aorus.

This one? Because it's $300 right now on amazon.

How do you know that this one is IPS?

On amazon there's a listing for that monitor that's a TN panel: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF270HU-Cbmiiprzx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07CY137XM

u/Mr401blunts · 1 pointr/buildapc

Maybe outside your budget. But as a AMD guy.

I have bought 3 of these so far, and i love each one.

u/sonsofaureus · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

That's a really nice monitor!
I have two LG ultrawides, one on top of the other - the bottom one at an angle like the linked picture, and a HD monitor in vertical.
I settled on a configuration like the linked pic after experimenting with ultrawides side by side (too much turning my head side to side), two ultrawides on top of each other with bottom one at eye level (too much looking up at the top screen).

If a big use-case for you is gaming (guessing from your monitor), how about a the two BenQs on the bottom, size by side and at an angle like the linked pic, and a 144hz WQHD ultrawide? That one has freesync, but I remember hearing Nvidia will start supporting freesync somehow.
In this case, seems like your top monitor will need to be at eye level and serve as your main gaming screen, with bottom two at an angle to look down on. These will run streaming apps, discord, audio controls, AMD or NVidia apps, or have browsers running, etc.

If decide to go this way and your monitors are VESA mountable, 1 dual desk mount and a tall single desk mount will be required.

Is this the same one? $279 on Amazon, with free shipping.

Thanks a ton for taking the time to put this all together. I've got a few questions:

  1. It's funny that you mention a 5700 XT - my buddy suggested one that I'll link to below for me, when my initial research actually led me to a GeForce RTX 2080 Super. The price difference is pretty significant, even if we're still in budget under your list - how big of a downgrade is the 5700 XT? Here's the link to my friend's suggestion: https://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-Red-Devil-Radeon-5700/dp/B07WY3TJW3/ref=sr_1_4?gclid=Cj0KCQiA-4nuBRCnARIsAHwyuPrGeK6e78LPtz2B32xSiozHEDgBNNPyzMOhvNzMKiVO2BcocTo1ICUaAu4vEALw_wcB&hvadid=382596738475&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9007472&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=8045086116653652292&hvtargid=kwd-805952272704&hydadcr=24334_11044540&keywords=powercolor+5700+xt&qid=1573074720&sr=8-4
  2. Another motherboard that was recommended to me was the Gigabyte B450 AORUS Pro WiFi (https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145082) which my local Microcenter has on sale for $89.99. What are the advantages of the motherboard you suggested? It's more expensive, but if it's worth the cost that's totally fine.
  3. Finally, I got a suggestion for an Acer monitor ( https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF270HU-Cbmiiprzx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07CY137XM) that's a bit cheaper. The main difference that I see is that the response time advertised on the LG - given that I primarily, if not exclusively, play single player games, is that a major factor? Am I otherwise missing something that gives the LG the edge?

Thank you again for taking the time to suggest a build and for offering to answer some questions - I'm certainly not trying to second guess you, just a little out of my league on some of this stuff and could use the advice.

I don't see a 27" version anywhere, but this monitor seems to have very similar specs.

u/Rg_RANDROID · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I was looking at that monitor (among a few others) for a good while yesterday, too.

This one was actually on sale for like $260 on Amazon (US) yesterday, but after a ton of research, I'm heading down to Micro Center today to pick up this one instead.

I also do a bit of work in Premiere / Photoshop, so that IPS panel is just too hard to resist.

I only actually need the 1440 resolution for recording, but I'd rather spend a little extra to get a higher refresh rate in-game. I know that you can record a higher refresh rate than what your display supports, but I actually didn't know that was also true for the resolution... Thanks for the tip!

u/conman1112 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Probably a dumb question, but does anyone have this monitor and or know if it is compatible with GSync? It seems another version of the XF270HU is listed on nvidia’s site. But I also read there are a number of monitors who will work with gsync but aren’t listed.

Is this the same monitor?

If so it's listed as cheaper on Amazon for me

EDIT: NVM thats the TN panel

Will this monitor work with RTX 2070 (G-sync)?

XF270HU

u/semimac80 · 1 pointr/buildapc

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF270HU-Cbmiiprzx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07CY137XM

better price

Also the dell 2719dgf is on sale at BB and other places for 319. Hell of a monitor even being a TN

u/maxbarnyard · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Point of clarification, the Amazon page for that model says it's a TN panel. Can't see either way on the manufacturer page but worth noting.

u/DVNO · 1 pointr/Monitors

Which websites?

The Microcenter page shows it as IPS. Acer's page for the XF270HU also shows the monitor as IPS.

However, Amazon's page shows it as "XF270HU Cbmiiprzx", whatever that means. But Acer also has a page for this alphabet soup model, which confirms it as a TN.

u/Crimtos · 1 pointr/Monitors

XF270HU is a TN panel. The VG271U is an ips panel for $380 but it has a flickering problem that frequently occurs.

Edit: There are actually two XF270HU models and it looks like this monitor is an excellent value.

u/pachetoke · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Buying a new monitor today or tomorrow for my 1080ti / 8700k rig.

Torn between https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF270HU-Cbmiiprzx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07CY137XM

and

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N2L5CXO/ref=psdc_1292115011_t4_B00MSOND8C

Besides those two, any other obvious deals I'm missing?

Must haves are 1440p, 144hz+, <5ms, 27", price <$400.

Edit: I have somehow talked myself into considering https://www.amazon.com/PG279Q-DisplayPort-Adjustable-Ergonomic-EyeCare/dp/B017EVR2VM

Is an IPS panel and g-sync really worth twice the price?

u/TerranOPIEOP · -2 pointsr/buildapcsales

The acer & and the amazon description for this model say it's TN.
