This is the same controller you're talking about that released with the S. The only complaint I have is the tiny thumb sticks, but I found some cheap grips here that make it a lot better.
Glad to be of help. By the way, I don't know if an analog stick is hard to grip, but just in case I've just found these.
I've tried several caps and those fit the best for me.
Edit: the Touch Protect used to be cheaper, US$4.99 a couple of years ago, but the customer service is good.
I recommend using thumb grips, they make such a big difference. I use these they are pretty good for the price.

Granted this is all Xbox One stuff on my side, but it might help you if you find the metal ones hurt too much. You said there was a link for the Switch joysticks somewhere in this post?
FPS Freek. I Bought a pair when I played a lot of reach and GOW3. I only kept one on the right analog stick. At first I thought ok bullshit i just got hustled but after playing with it on for about a month playing with out it was very difficult it could be that I got used to it. I never noticed any improvements in the amount of headshots/shots on target but it the extra leverage gained makes aiming a smoother process.

Ever try these? They're made for Xbox One sticks, but I'm sure they could fit the Vita, as videos about using Xbox One covers on the Vita were up. The ones I use can't be found anymore. I don't know what happened.
