I mean, I'm not trying to be insensitive to people's financial statuses but it was $60. If someone can afford an Xbox One, plus Destiny and all the expansion costs I don't think the SSD is going to be the make or break factor.

I mentioned to another poster that I don't want to recommend a specific one since I'm not really super savvy about the latest SSD tech, but:

   I usually would make sure the SSD has a fair amount of reviews and more than a 4* rating. Personally at $40, I was willing to take a risk that this was a crappy SSD, since it's mostly for Destiny anyway.

Game changer

I bought this, which is working pretty well. Only complaint is it takes my phone (Pixel 3) at least 30 seconds to mount it after plugging it in.

The cheaper ones won't work for storing games, due to size you need at least 240gigs though xbox recommends 250gigs. Also an important factor to look at is the speed of the SSD. Which I found still wasn't fast enough 100 percent of the time. I'd say maybe half of my games I still landed with playdough buildings. So I would highly suggest an SSD that is 550mbs for speed. That's the second one I bought and haven't had any trouble with rendering since.

You can get a $40 external 256gb ssd and just pick and choose what to transfer onto it. Can hold 2-3 games at a time in my experience.

Here is the best external SSD from a reputable company (ADATA) for a good price that I've found after browsing Amazon for a few minutes. 256 GB is more than enough to hold D2 with all expansions and it's only $62. You won't even need to buy an enclosure for it like some of the other recommendations for internal SSDs, just plug, transfer, and play!

USBs are not designed to run operating systems, so flaky results are frequent. An external SSD, however, performs flawlessly. I use one connected to my Lenovo X230, and am very pleased with how well my Linux Mint works on it.
