So you have two choices.
You can buy an FX 8300 @ $114.99
And learn to overclock.
Or
Buy an FX 8350 @ $155.87
Your motherboard doesn't support something like the FX 9590, too much power.
Even with the the 4Ghz FX 8350, i highly recommend you overclock. These CPUs are 4 years old and they weren't lightning fast to begin with.
Good luck.
hello, in my opinion you should not get an nvr for the fact that they are expensive and you can not upgrade them down the line, what i recommend is building a pc base nvr and use the blue iris softwere, my recommendation and my current set up is:

if you have an old computer you can save some parts and moeny by reusing the power supply, hdd and maybe the case. all that will be around 250-300, the you will have 200 to buy 4 poe 1080p cameras 50 each, and good things is that you can add more later on, best of the luck, you do need few more parts so let me know if you interested and i will put them together for you. you can take a look at mine at http://mymun2.25u.com:81 demo/demo for username and passowrd.
i am kinda trying to avoid intel as best as i can
how about AMD FX-8300 Vishera 8-Core 3.3 GHz Socket AM3+ 95W FD8300WMHKBOX Desktop Processor

Hard to beat this value right now - might even come with free Deus Ex still:

In case you TL;DR:
AMD is better bang for your buck. Intel is better for cutting-edge. Cutting edge is only relevant to $1500 procs, therefore anything Intel makes that's below AMDs top processor at the time, is basically overpriced.
Basically, the main differences between AMD and Intel are as follows:
AMD:
Cheaper than Intel in basically every facet
Uses 1 physical core per thread (irrelevant unless you're getting a very expensive CPU)
Intel:
Take your example build:
Proc - $117 - No heat sink or water cooling. 2 core, 4 threads
https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-6100-Cache-Processor-BX80662I36100/dp/B015VPX2EO
Board $76 - Not a lot to say about the board unless there's something about it you specifically want or like, if it works and supports all the cards and such you'll be needing, a board is a board.
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Gaming-Skylake-Motherboard-H110M/dp/B01B4U47E4
That's $193, and you get:
Building a cheapo AMD rig:
Proc - $105 - 8 core/8 thread @4.2 GHz - Comes with heat sink and pre-applied thermal paste in my experience.
https://www.amazon.com/AMD-8-Core-FX-8300-Processor-FD8300WMHKBOX/dp/B00TR8YL4W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1481881649&sr=1-1&keywords=amd+fx+8300
Mobo - $57 - Same as last mobo, if it does what you need it to as per what you're looking for, and fits your case, a mobo is a mobo. Cheapo one for sure.
https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard-GA-78LMT-USB3/dp/B009FC3YJ8/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1481880866&sr=1-2&keywords=am3%2B+motherboard
That's $162, and you get:
DDR3 ram is also cheaper, which is another thing to think about and price out. AMD doesn't support DDR4 yet, thus using DDR3 still, that intel board requires DDR4. Expect to pay more.
So, in these examples, you can see that you get a lot more for a lot less pretty easy with AMD. I currently have an AMD rig with the FX 8350 in it, which is basically a more stable 8300 with a base speed of 4GHZ instead of 3.3, both can reach 4.2GHz.
I personally rock the 970 Aura by Asus (mobo). It's been great to me, and has some LEDs on it for the extra lookers!
A lot of people have biases towards either product, but my bias for AMD is just because of rational, why pay more for less? I haven't noticed any differences in problem rates with Intel vs AMD, either, it's not like they just make cheap garbage parts ;)
Under 100€. For example from Amazon.de:
https://www.amazon.de/AMD-FD8300WMHKBOX-Octa-Core-Prozessor-Basistakt/dp/B00TR8YL4W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497619259&sr=8-1&keywords=fx+8300
You can get one at hardware swap or used on eBay
I just recommend going with 8300 it's about maybe 110 dollars less than that new.. You'll see a significant difference

Yes, the FX 8300. It outperforms by a lot the i3 in most modern games, and it is a great multitasker (Something the i3 isn't). It will only perform worse on single threaded games, which usually are old and don't require a strong CPU anyway.

Amazon is about $10 cheaper. Vishera isn't as bad as people are losing their shits over. I have an FX6300@5ghz. It isn't noticeably worse at gaming than my xeon e3-1230. The FX def has a couple worse fps dips in mass effect andromeda (the current game I'm playing and only real recent frame of reference) but the cores aren't even fully loaded on either chip anyway (the FX sits at around 60-70% per core, the xeon around 50%) with my r9 380x maxed out at 1080p begging for the release of sweet death. I'm sure it would be a lot more noticeable were I using a gtx 1070 or something against it, but I got the cpu with coupon stacking off newegg for $80 a couple years back, so like, managed expectations. You probably aren't pairing a $350-400 gpu with a $100 cpu. You are likely doing what I did and pairing it with a $180 gpu, in which case, it matters a whole lot less.
$200 isn't bad. I was expecting a little less than that for RAM and graphics but if I can find the 750 for ~$50-75 that saves me quite a bit. Adding a CPU and mobo in a few months would essentially make it a whole new machine.
My thoughts were to do something like an ASUS M5a97 and putting an AMD FX 8300 or something similar.
Currently using an AMD Phenom II x4 965

FX-8300, sorry :D
Awesome. So you wouldn't say that my CPU is bottle necking my current gamplay? What would a new CPU in this mix look like? I found this to be compatible and it was recommended by a friend

Cheap, but would it be a real improvement??
How about 8-Threads for LESS than an Intel dual-core? They are already doing this.

If AMD really want's to make an impact, they'd want the SR3 to make BOTH the consumer i5 and i7 irrelevant.
