ABC and NBC are VHF channels. The "flat" antennas are really designed for UHF channels (14+).
Not exactly sure why you arent getting CBS. That is one of your strongest signals (60db), so your amplified antenna might actually be "overloading" the signal causing you not to get it at all.

horrible reviews on amazon. could be part of the problem. does it show signal strength for those channels?

just a simple pair of rabbit ear antenna (cheap) should allow you to pick up vhf/uhf in your area inside. You can get it for about $4 shipped on ebay, or check out a local thriftstore/craigslist.
