I had no idea until recently that there is no original book - Goldman made everything up. He didn't abridge anything, he made everything entirely up on his own. It's an awesome literary device, I don't think I've heard of anything like that before, and it worked so beautifully. If you want more, go read Cary's memoir and even Goldman's book again!

Seems like /u/WishlistBot has been reading "As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride"... I could just be guessing. ;)

If you love the movie then the book AS YOU WISH written by Carey Ewles(Westley) will be pure enjoyment as well. So many wonderful stories about making the film and the other brilliant actors.

Because of your post, I went on Amazon to see how much it costs, and have ended up pre-ordering Cary Elwes' book 'As You Wish' about the making of the film.

Turned out to be a somewhat expensive cheap book... So, thank you‽

If you are a fan of The Princess Bride

I would probably go with something TARDIS related. It's the main component of Doctor Who, aside from the Doctor. I would try to go for something like this. It's a few dollars over, but you may be able to find it cheaper. I love the tea kettle, but it's a bit higher. Check out the Doctor Who selection of Think Geek for some more ideas. Etsy usually has some cool DW stuff, too.

There's also this book about the making of The Princess Bride, written by Cary Elwes! I really want to read it and imagine most fans would love it, as well.

If you haven't already, definitely check out Cary Elwes' book "As you wish...", it's all about The Princess Bride. There are some great stories in there about Andre, including one about some on set flatulence. I recommend the audio version as Mr. Elwes himself reads it.

I love that movie so much. I already have the movie and the book, but I do not yet have the book about the movie and am dying to read it.

As you wishlist. -drools over gif-

I haven't....but then I probably watch less than an hour of TV a week--so I'm usually clueless as to what's out there! I'll have to look for that on NetFlix....I did find this, though; looks like it might be a lark :)

And Dread Pirate Roberts would be my second choice name for my next horse...maybe I'll just have to get two.

Right after I win PowerBall :)
