Take a look at the Dell 5577 - it's the same style as the very popular, understated 7559 last generation model. This one though has the Kaby Lake chips in it and the GTX 1050 for another 20-30% performance over the outgoing 960m. RAM is upgradeable to 32GB and is available from a range of stores.
The ASUS VivoBook Pro N552VW is another excellent choice, pulled from our wiki. Under $850 USD for a thin, sleek quad core i7 CPU and a GTX 960m for mainstream gaming.

I'm going into cs this fall aswell and this laptops caught my eye, if I weren't to be gaming on it aswell I would buy it but I'm gonna settle for the dell 7567.

For gaming? There are but they are either more expensive: link or 60fps is going to be a bit of a challenge: link2. Unfortunately that ZenBook is an Europe only model. I thought then to look at older Zenbooks and I actually got something:

It looks like a beast but I've never heard of Eluktronics before which concerns me a little bit.

Everything seems right except the fact that it only has an HDD which I'll have to upgrade to an ssd.
Also it's 4k which is a HUGE plus to me.
