How many inches are you looking for ? this monitor is great with 5ms and an IPS panel. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS248H-P-24-inch-Back-lit-Monitor/dp/B0058UUR6E this is the 2ms TN panel monitor!

Go to /r/Monitors/ for further.

u/ottosunday · 6 pointsr/Monitors

I feel like I sound like a broken tape recorder mentioning this monitor on this sub but I have 3x of the Asus VS239H-P
It's only 23" but its 1920x1080 and IPS, I grabbed mine each used for about $100 off ebay.

A couple other options are the very popular Dell UltraSharp U2312HM at the same specs

Or a couple of "slim-bezel" monitors with the same specs as well that are both IPS are AOC's version and Acer's version. Slightly different but they use the same panel

Keep in mind these are all also below $200 (usually around $150) which would save you're friend some cash to throw into parts instead and

u/King_Tryndamere · 4 pointsr/Monitors

This is what I have and I would buy it again without hesitation.

Why are you buying a monitor for an Xbone? a TV is going to be cheaper and do everything you want it to do.

u/Sashieden · 4 pointsr/buildapc

PC Part Picker page for the monitor

Newegg and it is showing the rebate card from both newegg and the manufacturer. Is it suppose to be showing the shipped price or the total possible rebates?

Amazon , is not showing the rebate card on there. But like you said they aren't giving you the API.

u/Hungry-Panda-Bear · 3 pointsr/buildapc

So, what's best? DVI or HDMI?

This is the screen I'll be using.

u/explosive_farts · 3 pointsr/Monitors

Ive been using this and just ordered a second one. It looks great to me and have noticed no problems. The stand is pretty basic but works.

I have the Asus 23 inch LED IPS one and I love it.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I use this. I also have this, but it looked sort of fuzzy with the matte and had a purple blemish. Couldn't return it to Amazon because it was over 30 days, but the AOC warranty could probably help. The AOC one looks much sleeker than the Asus, but has worse picture quality.

u/Eist · 2 pointsr/Monitors

I looked at these exact three screens when I wanted to buy a new monitor.

They are all probably similar quality screens, but the Dell has excellent features and and excellent stand for the price. The Asus is nice if you want to do any moving of the screen at all, this is not for you. The Acer is pretty sexy and a tad cheaper at Amazon. As is the Asus.

I have the Dell and it is beautiful. I recommend this one.

u/Metalpetals · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

If I wasn't mistaken, yes. I was at work at the time and just jotted down numbers as I searched. I went on amazon. Just search ips monitor. This was what I saw last night

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008DWITHI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1382908672&sr=8-1&pi=SL75

u/Jgautier123 · 2 pointsr/Monitors

Well I'm assuming you're looking for something that won't break the bank and if you want IPS for a good price you have to go with 60hz. Here's an example of a solid 60hz IPS monitor: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008DWITHI/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1482599707&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ips+monitor&dpPl=1&dpID=41zbBpH7xYL&ref=plSrch
Depending on what games you play, you might want 144hz over IPS. This would be the case if you play games like CSGO, or other competitive shooters. Here's a good 144hz panel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B2HH7G0/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1482604411&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=asus+monitor&dpPl=1&dpID=41lkIdf1gCL&ref=plSrch

u/ugleekat · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I don't have the budget to upgrade to a 1080ti right now with the currently chosen monitor. This is the monitor I currently have, bought 4 years ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DWITHI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Should I stick with this for the 1080, or upgrade to the 1080ti now and buy a better monitor at a later date when I have the money? I was going to have dual monitors. Thanks!

u/munkey505 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Meh, the flash did the washing out in the pic. But I love the monitor! I have the Gsync kit in it and it's awesome! But yes, I watch movies and shows on the IPS monitors. The new one I got (left side) looks great!

u/awyeahmuffins · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Looking for a good monitor to pair with my i7 3770k and r9 280x. Kind of new to everything, so while I understand the basic differences I find myself lost in the amount of different brands and models.

I play mostly third-person games (Tomb Raider, Witcher, Mass Effect) and some light FPS (BF4, Titanfall, not very competitive) so I'm assuming IPS is the way to go over TN?

What hz and resolution would be good for my build?

What I'm looking for:

21-24"

Preferably under $260

But I'm flexible on both conditions given the right monitor.

Monitors I was looking at:

ASUS VS239H-P

ASUS VG248QE

The second one is more expensive, but has better refresh rate, response time, and contrast ratio, but has a TN panel instead of an IPS. Thoughts? Any others to consider?

u/construktz · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Yeah, this display is virtually identical, but is a higher quality IPS display that would provide better viewing angles. The laptop is a good buy.

u/xColsanders · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Any thoughts on this monitor? I have been waiting for this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DWITHI/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

To go on sale, but this deal looks pretty damn good. Any suggestions?

u/MaddenTexasRanger · 2 pointsr/MLBTheShow

PS4 slim and regular PS4 controller w/ zero modifications, zone hitting, strike zone, wedge, analog pitching.

Internet is just Charter and I get like 150 mbps down and like 10 mbps up.

Here is my monitor: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DWITHI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/IAmAWitness · 2 pointsr/redditblack

You're better off buying an Asus monitor. I've heard the colors aren't impressive on benq. I have this one and the colors are great, and the response time is identical. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008DWITHI/ref=pd_aw_sbs_3/192-1103989-7928939?pi=SL500_SS115

u/kasmog · 2 pointsr/Monitors

Yeah, Lol. It's time to let go.
Back to monitor, If I needed a 1080p IPS 60hz 23" right now, I would definitely get https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DWITHI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1.
Sure, it's an older style with pretty big bezel, but the sharpness and crystal clearness of that monitor is superb for the price.

u/Jimmacle · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This monitor is cheaper and it has good reviews. Everything else looks good. You won't need a sound card unless you work with high-quality sound, motherboards these days have good onboard sound.

u/bigassbank · 2 pointsr/Monitors

I've had one for a few months and I'm liking it so far. However, if you want a matte screen instead of the glossy one on the s2340, you can also try the ASUS VS239H-P

u/ChainsawReaper · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I look at the refresh rate and try to get the lowest one because I like FPS. If your into fast pace fps games like battlefield 3/4 get the lower refresh rate. If you are into Starcraft or any games like that get a bigger screen. The_Russian has one that looks around about what you should be looking for. I would look here though, it has guides and you can adjust what you want on the side menu.

u/The_Russian · 2 pointsr/buildapc

You probably wouldnt be disappointed with this. Good brand, LED so it isnt as hot but still looks damn good, and an IPS on top of that. I personally couldnt tell the difference between a 5 and a 2ms response time, but if you can or want it, then you could get the non IPS panels for like 30$ cheaper and itll have the 2ms response time. Id go with IPS though because it looks gorgeous on it.

This is the monitor that i plan to get for myself within a few months for gaming, as its 1440p and can be overclocked to be close to 120hz. Its almost double your budget though, and depending on your video card might not even be worth it.

u/gphan331 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I would rather get something without speakers since some cheap speakers can out perform the built in ones. I would recommend the ASUS VS239H-P 23-Inch Full-HD LED IPS Monitor. It is an IPS panel monitor so it has great viewing angles and large color depth.

u/rolfraikou · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Or This one is the same price, 5ms instead of 1ms, but it's IPS (better color and viewing angles), it is mountable (vesa mount) and I've had one for years that's done me well (graphic designer, so color is a must)

1ms might be necessary for an intense FPS player, but I think (also as a Minecraft player) that better visuals are more important for creative types than a few ms. Besides, I used to do FPS games on 12ms just fine. So 5ms really isn't bad at all.

EDIT: And a surprisngly cheap 2560x1440 25" IPS if you really want to spoil the kid.

u/The_Hope_89 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Entry Level gaming 60hz 1080p link $130

Enthusiast gaming 144hz 1080p monitor link $315

Entry Level gaming 1440p monitor Link $250

Each of these monitors have LOW <5ms response time, IPS panel, and great colors.

u/BernardLaverneHoagie · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Yeah, fuck these monitors. I bought them, had issues on a 3 monitor set up and then returned them to Amazon because of this.

I would highly suggest these instead:

http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI

Cheaper and better, in my opinion.

u/machinehead933 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

That's not the XG2401. It's weird that is what it says in the URL because it is clearly a different product: ViewSonic VX2457-MHD

The XG2401 is more expensive than the AOC monitors you had listed: https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-XG2401-FreeSync-Monitor-DisplayPort/dp/B01A0ZRR50/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1500649906&sr=1-2&keywords=XG2401

It's also a better monitor. But that's why I suggested only getting 1 144Hz monitor, and the 2nd one being just a cheap 60Hz IPS like this

> For a cheaper motherboard

Those are both bad options. You need to keep a Z270 board so you can overclock, and to ensure it will be compatible out of the box with the 7700K. Apparently, you will want to avoid Gigabyte boards for the time being as well see why. Something like the Asus - TUF Z270 MARK 2 would suffice, and save you $50.

u/yoonj93 · 2 pointsr/Monitors

-no.

-no.

-nothing off the top of my head, but any 1080p ips monitor should look beautiful as an accompaniment to the XB241H, and should generally run sub $150 USD I believe.
edit: ASUS VS239H-P

u/FlairViper · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Nice price, how would it compare to a Asus VS239H-P which is a similar price? Been looking to get a new monitor.

u/JuanCartierXVIII · 2 pointsr/Monitors

Yes, for $160, I own three.

u/JustSoZen · 2 pointsr/buildapc

How about this one: link

u/ThatsWhatUrMomSaid · 2 pointsr/Games

Personally, I would pay the extra $40 for the ASUS VS239H-P. This one uses an IPS panel (as opposed to the other's TN panel) and thus has much better color reproduction and viewing angle. No speakers, but it has an audio out passthrough port. It does have a slightly slower response time, but 5ms (vs 2ms for the other) is not a big difference IMO. Especially for the better picture that you get.

If you want something bigger, I'd look at this one from LG. 27", IPS, 5ms response, no speakers but does have that speaker/headphone hdmi audio passthrough jack, $230.

u/_TheEagle · 2 pointsr/buildapc

You can find a cheap 60hz ips 1080p monitor for under $200, it is perfectly fine for gaming yet has excellent colour reproduction.

Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1396422066&sr=1-10

Alternatively you could go all out gaming with a 120/144hz solution, but almost all of them are TN panels and as such have terrible colour quality. And lastly you can go with a korean 1440p monitor, if you have the money for it, and have the hardware to drive them.

u/lss97 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

The GTX 760 would be a strong performer if you are targeting a $250 budget. Also take a look at the R9 270X which is marginally slower than the GTX 760 but is sometimes $30+ cheaper.

The i5-4670k or i5-4570 (if not overclocking) are definitely the best processors for pure gaming (aside from very expensive enthusiast CPU's) However they don't fit everyone's budget, which is why a lot of people go with i3's or AMD's FX-6300/FX 8350.

For a 1080p monitor I strongly recommend an IPS monitor for better viewing angles and colour reproduction. A sample monitor is this one: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395883809&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+vs239

u/Quote_a · 2 pointsr/RivalsOfAether

Driver is AMD's Radeon Crimson 16.5.3. It's non-WHQL, but AMD drivers are usually pretty bug-free.

My monitor is an ASUS VS239H-P.

u/jhc1415 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'm looking into the same thing. Have been hearing a lot of recomendations for the ASUS VS239H a bit over your price range, but it might be your best bet.

u/NH4Cl · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Don't save money on the PSU, but get Seasonic G-550 which is $90 on Amazon right now. You can save little by getten cheaper RAM and HDD. Kingston HyperX is fine for $75 and WD Blue is under $70. You can get cheaper GPU, but you will lose in performance. For monitor I would get this unless you really want 1ms panel. This Asus has IPS panel which I greatly prefer to slightly faster response time. I'm not saying anything about your motherboard, since I'm not too familiar with Z97 models. Power phase is usually the thing that fries in cheaper boards when overclocking CPU so I would look into that.

u/nmork · 1 pointr/buildapc

u/mr_duong567 · 1 pointr/apple

At $100-200 you're not gonna get very quality monitors to match with your rMBP. However if you do get one, make sure you get a Thunderbolt to DVI cable and use that to connect to your monitor.

With that said, I'd recommend this. It's an Asus IPS monitor that's pretty good for the price.

Dell also offers a slightly better build with the same LCD panel here.

u/FCHatred · 1 pointr/StreetFighter

I'm currently gaming on a 17" LG Zenith monitor from like 2005 with horrid input lag and was needing to upgrade my monitor quite soon. I've found these two monitors on the cheap but wasn't quite sure which one would be better and was hoping maybe someone here has experience with either one.

Monitor 1: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DWITHI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I really only play Street Fighter, Hearthstone and RPG games so no FPS's, so no need for a 144hz monitor.

once you go IPS, you never go back

u/commonplatypus · 1 pointr/buildapc

I really wish I knew why people are so worried about refresh rate these days. At the current technology we can't even measure input lag without a special device. (Input lag on televisions, specifically plasma models) is much higher than what you would find on a computer monitor and even THAT requires a Leo Bodnar lag tester. Otherwise the process for gauging it is complicated and requires a lot of expertise.

Bottom line is that humans can't perceive it unless they know precisely what they're looking for and even then the perceptions are so minute it shouldn't bother you and if it does, then I don't know what to tell you, because it's a pretty minor detail to be worried about.

I've got this monitor. It's budget friendly and pretty good in my opinion, but that dell that was mentioned by /u/sprucegroose is probably what I would rather shoot for.

u/solinvictus01 · 1 pointr/buildapc

u/djmixture · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I'm right now between this or the ASUS VS239H-P Been looking all over forums for the difference between the two. And it seems that the VN248 in this thread is just the newer version of the VS239. Making the 248 a better choice. Any thoughts on this? Since this deal ends today I guess I'll have to pull the trigger asap. Oh and I'm wanting to mount this along with 2 other monitors. Any recommendations on good 3 way vesa mounts that aren't too expensive like below 100 bucks?

u/PraisingTheSon · 1 pointr/buildapc

I currently have this 23" Asus monitor, and the stand seems to be pretty flimsy. Even small bumps to my desk and somewhat vigorous typing will cause it to wobble. Do buying desk mounts like this one alleviate the problem?

This is what I recommend for the ps4: ASUS VS239H-P 23" Full HD 1920x1080 IPS HDMI DVI VGA Back-lit LED Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DWITHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_I5kMDbC47MT9M

And this is what I recommend for the ps4 Pro: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-27ul600-w-27-ips-led-4k-uhd-freesync-monitor-with-hdr-silver-white/6329956.p?skuId=6329956

If you REALLY must have IPS, here is an almost identical model to the one I posted above, but with IPS at only 20 dollars more:

http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI/

u/majoroutage · 1 pointr/buildapc

Your current monitor is already LED backlit, so there's nothing wrong with it as far as age degradation goes (as opposed to CCFL which eventually gets dimmer). And 1080p is still a pretty good res for 24" or less.

But if you're still looking for an upgrade, you could go to either a 60hz IPS panel, or a 144hz TN one.

u/Physics_Prop · 1 pointr/PcMasterRaceBuilds

I would go with the same monitor, but if not, this is a great monitor (used for < 150)

u/explodingpens · 1 pointr/PS4

>So if anyone could recommend a TV that's around 22-25 inch that has good display on both the HDMI and VGA side of things, that'd be amazing, otherwise I have a different, far simpler question.

I recall replying to your earlier thread, and I mentioned most monitors with an HDMI input also have a 3.5 mm analogue output. This would simplify your setup greatly, as it would allow you to simply plug the speakers into the monitor, forgoing all those cables and converters otherwise needed.

I'd therefore advise that you get a computer monitor instead of a TV. A TV in the 22"-25" range will most likely cost you more or be of inferior quality, often both. TVs also aren't designed for the low response times necessary for computer and gaming applications.

Regarding specific model, I'm not sure. Since the PS4 will at most output 60Hz content, I'd go with an IPS screen, prioritizing colour and contrast over refresh rate. Perhaps this Asus, which comes well-reviewed and reasonably priced. You might be better off making a post in another subreddit for a more researched recommendation, though.

u/SyrioForel · 1 pointr/buildapc

In this price range, this monitor is better:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DWITHI/

It has a superior IPS panel for the LCD display, which means better colors and much wider viewing angles. It is 1 inch smaller, though, so that's a trade-off that you should consider.

u/Thezanthex · 1 pointr/buildapc

http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI

This is a really solid monitor. I just ordered a second one last night.

u/Olreich · 1 pointr/Monitors

I can get you cheap, but not best. I can get you best, but not cheap. You're asking for two mutually exclusive things, do you want the best over the cheapest or the cheapest over the best?

I can offer up three cheap, decent monitors (about a 4 out of 10 on quality): ASUS VS239H-P, Dell E2414Hx, Acer G246HL.

I can offer up 2 fantastic, but decently expensive monitors (about a 7-8 out of 10 on quality): Dell UltraSharp U2412M, Asus PB238Q

Trade offs for everything.

u/brianf408 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Decent review here

The review itself is for the 2440L, but it's the same family of monitors and it does a comparison with your monitor as well. Scroll almost down to the bottom for response time and input lag. The 2340 has good response time, but pretty poor draws. There is an even better analysis of it online, I currently cannot find the link though.

IIRC the 2340 also has an "overdrive" function that can be turned on and off to improve gaming performance, I'd take a look at that as well.

Personally I've been a fan of any of the Dell Ultrasharps, and my favorite monitors have been Asus: PA248Q, VS239H, MX239H

u/ThatOtherGuy435 · 1 pointr/starcitizen

To expand to a particular recommendation, I have the Asus VS229H-P (actually 3) and they ahve been very good to me for the price, though I think I paid $120 each on sale. It also comes in a slightly larger 23" version, VS239H-P.

u/MexicanOreos · 1 pointr/buildapc

For a monitor, I would recommend a IPS monitor. I just recently bought this Acer monitor and it looks gorgeous. Slim and glossy with really nice image for $149.99

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009483&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-

or if you want a little cheaper but still nice:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DWITHI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1AZY99KKF8Q9I&coliid=I88TU8XHOIG93&psc=1

u/ducklingkwaak · 1 pointr/Monitors

Consider this: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI

What are your needs? I'm guessing low cost, and get the most for your money?

Your second monitor is a good choice for IPS and good for general use and probably better than most mid range TN screens.

If you're gaming, generally you'll appreciate a 120hz+ monitor. Here's a 144hz one for ~$250 if you can go that high: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B2HH7G0

If you can spend juuust a little more, I'd highly recommend going for one of the 1440p monitors that can overclock to 120hz (if you're persistant, you can get one for around $300). Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-QX2710-Evolution-LED-Monitor/dp/B00BUI44US

u/True_Tech · 1 pointr/photography

you can rent one, or buy a calibrator used, from my reading though it slowly gets out of spec and its recommended to recalibrate every 3/4 months. I personally havent done it yet but I will. As to monitors I personally rock this one http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI

u/worldlyfellow · 1 pointr/buildapc

I currently have 2 monitors at 1920x1080 @ 60hz.

Link to Monitors: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-23-Inch-Full-HD-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415252429&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+ips+monitor

I plan on getting a 3rd one soon of the same type.

u/blarp45 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Got some Amazon Japan gift cards and am thinking about getting a 24 inch monitor (can't stand doing all of my work on this tiny laptop screen anymore). r/buildmeapc recommends this acer monitor for their cheapest option and The Wirecutter recommends this asus monitor.

From what I can tell there is no real discernible difference between the two in terms of quality and price. Should I just flip a coin here and then pick one? Alternatively, if you've got a better cheap recommendation I can find on amazon.co.jp I'd love to hear it.

u/Wandrell · 1 pointr/gadgets

Hello guys,

I have a 17 inch laptop and I want to get a new monitor. I will use the new monitor as the main monitor for my laptop, and plug a Nintendo Switch to it.

The important stuffs:

  • Purchasing in Canada (I only looked at Amazon.ca, any other good alternatives?)

  • I think I want an IPS but not fully decided

  • No need for G-Sync/FreeSync; but need HDMI (laptop constraints)

  • Looking for 1080p60 (cant output any higher)

  • Since I will use it for both PC and Switch, I was thinking that having 2 HDMI inputs on the monitor would be great, but not necessary.

  • Main use: Gaming (Dota, Civ, Many Indies, Nothing too demanding)

  • Secondary use: Media, Web (TV Shows & Movies all in 1080p, Reddit, Essay Writing)

  • Budget: $150-$300

Got these on my list so far: ASUS VS248H-P, ASUS VS239H-P, BenQ GL2460HM, Acer S241HL, ASUS VE247H

Any help would be greatly appriciated :)

    Thank you!

21.5" IPS 1080p Cheap option, no vesa mount screw holes though. I have used these as side panels and love them, I bought adapters so I could vesa mount them though.

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS239H-P-1920x1080-Back-lit-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1541993826&sr=1-2&keywords=23%2Bips%2Bvesa&dpID=41zbBpH7xYL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1

23" ips 1080p with vesa mounting capabilities.

I don't see a real need to get another 1440p screen honestly. Especially since it's just your side panel and being cheaper you could get 2x 1080p screens and have a lot of screen real estate. If you strictly want 2 panels only, then I could understand going 1440p I suppose. I'd think 4k would be better though since you could watch 4k movies on that, and use your main monitor for gaming.

https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-3840x2160-DisplayPort-Speakers-Metallic/dp/B073X6G4DZ/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1541994095&sr=1-4&keywords=4k+monitor

like $170 for that 4k ips screen 27" it know you were saying you only wanted around 24" but having 2 27" screens with the option to do some games @ 1440p for higher frame rates and some @4k along with movies would be a nice choice to have at your fingertips.

u/alanaction · 1 pointr/dubai

I'm actually a graphic designer and a gamer myself so i understand your plight. You'll definitely want an IPS display because they offer the best quality in color reproduction and viewing angles. I'm on my phone atm, but I'll link a few different models when i get a sec.

Here's a few different models. You definitely want an IPS display though if you're working with photos.

Are you looking for 1080p? If so, I have this monitor and like it a lot:

http://www.amazon.com/VS239H-P-1920x1080-DVI-D-Back-lit-Monitor/dp/B008DWITHI/

I am not sure the exchange rate for your currency, but I think it should be around your budget ~ 140 USD. Great monitor, great price.

u/navi42 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

FWIW, I bought this and I'm liking it a lot so far. Good budget 23" IPS. Only thing is the stand is somewhat crappy (although functional enough) so having a VESA mount helps.

u/Dronicusprime · 1 pointr/buildapc

This looks pretty good. I got one of These for around $199 on sale.

u/saigese7en · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm looking at this monitor and there's a refurbished one for ~$20-$30 cheaper then buying new. Would this be okay to buy or am I better off spending a bit more for a new one?

The reason I ask is because I'd like to save some money if possible, I'm saving up so I can buy some other parts (SSD, mech keyboard, possibly SLI, etc) later this year. Thanks :)

u/kalirion · 1 pointr/Monitors

The Asus-VS239H 23".

Figure if I don't like it, I can just send it back. I don't look forward to the color calibration thing - could never figure out how to do it properly even with online guides.

u/TheSideJoe · 1 pointr/buildapc

VN248Q-P vs VS239H-P

Which one? They both have IPS, neither are adjustable stands, so I'm not sure which one would be better. I think I saw somewhere that the 48Q has a newer IPS panel, but I'm not sure that's true either. This is for a second monitor so Hz and refresh aren't that important.

u/ChRoNicBuRrItOs · 1 pointr/buildapc

...Damn, this might be the one. Nice price, nice specs, I can take it off to put it on a triple mount...yeah, I think I just might go with this one. How does it compare to this?

Edit: Just reading the reviews on the one you linked, and someone said "the picture does not stretch all the way out to the end of the screen"? Could that cause a problem when using three?

Answered my own edit, haha.

u/Protocol_Fenrir · 1 pointr/buildapc

Is a GTX 770 enough for one Screen (1920x1080) gaming, and another screen (1920x1080) for web browsing/video watching?

If so, I currently own an Asus VS239 IPS Monitor, would it be a good decision for the second monitor to be the same, or would an IPS be a waste? Should I look into a monitor with speakers or just a simple non-IPS monitor of the same size?

I should note my computer is also used for programming and hobby level video editing.

Then you have ~$150ish for a keyboard + mouse + monitor. Put ~20 for a nice keyboard & mouse bundle. (You don't need anything fancy much, trust me. Plus, in the future, you can always upgrade your peripherals while it's harder to upgrade components!) Logitech Desktop MK120 Mouse and Keyboard Combo is 18.50 on Amazon. (I use the keyboard, my dad uses the mouse. Both are fine for gaming!)

Some nice 1080p monitors at the ~129.99 point include the Acer R240HY (recommended) and the ASUS VS239H-P
