I'm gonna share a little known secret (even in the audio world): balanced armature IEMs are some of the best noise canceling headphones.

Most headphones and IEMs work by pushing air from the outside into your ear, balanced armature IEMs work with the air already in your ears. When there's no outside air coming in- no noise! It works for both constant noises like airplanes as well as sudden noises like people laughing/talking in the NYC subway.

The IEMs I recommend are the Audio Technica IM-02s, which have no bass emphasis, but give voices a deep, rich quality I think you'll really like. The sound is overall balanced, and works well with a lot of genres of music, especially vocal heavy tracks.

I don't like audiobooks and prefer to read, but when I listen to podcasts or lectures with these, it's always a treat.

Also, one big advantage of IEMs vs. over-ears is not having to deal with "headphone hair," I rely on my IM-02s when I actually have to see people later on and can't just chill in my jammies.

I second the Shure's.

Audio Technica has a nice line of IEM's with replaceable cables as well. I have the ATH-IM02's and they've treated me very well.

Thanks dude! Sure, of course! I also highly encourage you to experiment with the software yourself and not solely rely on already pre-configured presets as that will really teach you the ins and outs of setting up sounds to your tastes! I'll have it labeled as "explodingliver Van Halen"

For this, I wasn't using powered speaker monitors, I was using in ears. Yep, I use a Scarlett 2i2 with a DI box in the front and I plug my guitar in to that. I solely use in ear monitors plugged in to the Scarlett, specifically these, ignore the price as they are discontinued. The Audio-Technica E70 in ears are basically the replacement for these. Any good in ears will suffice. I have KRK Rock-it monitors but I don't really use them a whole lot as I'm always mobile and always have my in-ears with me.

If you'd like isolation I'd recommend either of the Etymotic IEMs (balanced) followed by the Shure SE215 (warm) followed by the Audio-Technica ATH-IM02, here is a review of the ATH-IM02 but essentially it's a very balanced IEM that I would compare to the Etymotic's just not as cold.

$200 will not get you into high end. Your best bet will probably be something like the Mee Audio P1 or ATH IM02

If hard hitting bass is your number one priority for hip hop you may also consider the RHA T10i

Thanks to all the kind people in the previous few threads, I've narrowed down my new IEM choice to the following, leaning heavily towards the GR07 mkII (non-BE). Would love a second opinion revolving around build quality and overall sound quality. Thanks!

GR07 mkII (Classic, Non-BE)

IM02

IE60

SE315

Amazon US should ship them to you since they are shipping them to me in Australia.

Also worth checking out on eBay, /r/AVexchange or other sources you'll use as they aren't uncommon IEMs in the market.
