it won't affect performance at all. here's an Amazon link to the same sticks, it's safer that way. (Newegg alt)
Dual channel doesn't mean that, but it certainly implies that. Dual channel means it gets a bit of a boost in speed by being able to read/write simultaneously. You can't have dual channel without two sticks.
Looks like you'll need to remove the two 2GB sticks and replace them with two 4GB sticks.
http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-PC3-12800-240-Pin-BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00/dp/B006WAGGUK/
You can use 666MHz or above. The memory will downclock itself to whatever your chipset can support.
edit: actually, you can get a single 8GB stick for about the same price as two 4GB sticks, so you can buff that up to 10GB by only replacing one 2GB stick with an 8GB stick (2GB + 8GB = 10GB)
Some suggestions to trim the fat:
Let me see what I can do.
Edit: will amazon work for you?
Not quite the historical low, but getting there.
There's also an 8GB kit for $67.99.EDIT:
Both the 8GB and 16GB kits are out of stock. However you can still order at the deal price by looking at the list of sellers and selecting Amazon.Everything is now out of stock.I have been building gaming PCs for a few years and this is what I would change.
I would change the fx6300 + hyper 212 for an fx8320. The 8320 is better for gaming and you can survive a few weeks without overclocking it. It has better performance at stock speeds than the fx6300 does when overclocked.
You can find cheaper ram that performs the same or even better. Like this http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-PC3-12800-240-Pin-BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00/dp/B006WAGGUK/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1381353096&sr=8-11&keywords=8gb+ddr3
Not sure if you really need 2tb but I guess you do. If you don't switch back to 1TB and get another hard drive when you need it.
You NEED a better power supply. A 8320 when overclocked can reach 300w, the gtx 660 uses at least 120w. That's 420W for a 430w PSU. Too close in my opinion.
I would suggest this as least http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DGHKK7M/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2QJQRG0AYGTMR&coliid=I3ETXWNC8Y71SR
If possible, get this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0092ML0OC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2QJQRG0AYGTMR&coliid=I1NJMU7VF08WV9
Now, about the "other" stuff. I have a sidewinder keyboard and it's ok but you want to get a mechanical keyboard. I only bought mine because it was really cheap. I got it for like $15.
Getting the mechanical keyboard right now would go over your budget so get a cheap one and get this later http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-6Gv2-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B008OQTGBQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1381353853&sr=8-2&keywords=steelseries+keyboard
About the mice. As far as I know, only the g400, razer deathadder and the zowie evo2 and FK have no acceleration sensors. I would get any of those.
g400 for palm grip, razer deathadder black edition for palm grip, deathadder 2013 edition for semi-palm / semi-claw grip, Zowie mouses for claw grip.
About the headset, people that know about headphones recommend headphones instead of headsets for gaming. Headsets have overall lower sound quality and it doesn't give you any advantage at all to your performance in gaming.
I would get this headphones with a PCIe asus xonar dg soundcard. You can get the soundcard later if you want, so you can feel the difference better. http://www.amazon.com/JVC-HARX700-Precision-Sound-Headphones/dp/B0013OWPV4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381354267&sr=8-1&keywords=rx700
I think that's it. If you have any doubt, let me know.
Edit: forgot about the case. That rosewill case is fine but it only has 1 frontal intake, no bottom intakes and no 3.0 usb ports. I like this nzxt case a lot because it is very cheap and has everything you could need from a mid tower case. If you can afford the extra $20, get it. http://www.amazon.com/Technologies-Tempest-Steel-Tower-Airflow/dp/B005MMW4DM/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1381354467&sr=8-30&keywords=nzxt+case
Seems like you're missing some RAM - your computer wont work without it. Get the cheapest 2x4gb (8gb total) that you can find. 1600 mt/s is good enough for gaming, and anything over 8gb is overkill for games. I'd recommend Crucial Ballistix 2x4gb kit - Amazon link. It'll run you about $60.
I'd recommend a better video card - 1gb isn't quite enough for some of the higher end games out there these days. Check out this msi radeon 7870 on newegg - you'll get 2 free games (you can pick which 2) with it as well because of AMD's new never settle promotion (see game titles here). This card is only about $50 more than your current one, and it'll give you twice as much video ram (2gb).
Those 2 changes will put you in the $750 range. If you wanna spend closer to $800, I'd recommend a processor upgrade. Check out the AMD 8320 - Amazon link. For another $25 bucks you'll get an 8 core processor, instead of 6 (same mobo will work as well). It's a smaller priced upgrade than an SSD. You'll notice the performance increase when doing heavy multitasking, which at college is likely to happen (office docs open, gaming, browsers open, etc)

(BTW, thank you so much for your help. This is my first build and I am trying my best to figure this stuff out)
http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B006WAGGUK/?tag=pcp0f-20
64 bucks for 2x4 GB. Bought it for my mom.
Edit: out of stock at that price now.
These are good sticks for a low price... you can just replace the ones in your system with these.
As for your CPU, here are some benchmarks to prove that it's still good:
Some of those gameplays might have overclocked CPU and/or GPU but it should not make that big of a difference.
https://www.amazon.ca/Ballistix-PC3-12800-240-Pin-Memory-BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00/dp/B006WAGGUK/ref=sr_1_52?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1498014581&sr=1-52
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145324&cm_re=DDR3_240-pin_DIMM-_-20-145-324-_-Product
Out of the three is there really any difference? Except for the aluminum heat spreader on the Ballistix
$40 is probably a more reasonable price, actually. Here they are on Amazon. They are roughly $6 cheaper than the DDR4. You've also got to remember that DDR3 is no longer the latest and greatest, and that these carry NO WARRANTY, so there is inherent risk when purchasing these secondhand.
Either way, good luck with your sale!
First: Get RAM to 16 gigs. It'll help with overall speed, switching between applications, multi tasking, etc. I would get 2 more sticks of 4gig of the same model that you have, if you can find it. If not, get a 2x8gig kit. You could be cheeky and have a 24gig set up. This should be an $80 upgrade.
I will note, with some kits, it's actually cheaper to order 2 separate 4gig kits (each at ~$30), rather than a single purchase of a 2x4gig (~$80). Just to keep in mind.

Upgrade graphics card to 1060 (6g) or 20xx or radeon equivalent, best that budget allows. This will give the biggest kick to game performance. This will be a $200 upgrade.
That CPU is a lovely piece of hardware, and the only reason why I 'upgraded' from it to a 7600k was so my friend could have my old computer. He's rocking a similar set up, with 16gigs and a 1070, runs everything high settings at 1080p60fps.

These? Same price as the 8GB single.
Thanks I'll check into it, but I was wanting to stay sub $150 for the graphics card. Already over that...
The RAM you suggested was 1333, I was looking for 1600 since that's what most of the info I found recommends. I did find this one: http://amzn.com/B006WAGGUK
Any reason you'd go with 1333 over 1600?

Hey all, I just put together a new PC with your suggestions and I don't have any video output. I'm not sure where the problem is. Please help; this is the first time I've ever built my own PC, and the fact that I seem to got everything right except the video output is driving me insane! I really appreciate any advice you guys can give. I'm hoping it's just this one more problem before I can flag this as "build complete!" I also submitted this to /r/techsupport.

Should I go for one 8GB RAM stick or 2x4GB?
2x4 is slightly more expensive, any drawbacks to getting the 8GB RAM?
Completely new to PC building so I'm guessing that all compatibility revolves around the mobo, I'm using this one and both of the RAM options are apparently compatible. Which one should I go for?
So could I just buy the Recommend 8GB RAM from the Logical Increments PC Parts Guide and be good to go?

That console is pretty low end to be honest. The problems are the RAM (only 4GB), and the graphics for this says "Custom Nvidia Maxwell GTX CPU". I would go custom build, but you don't want to :(. There are very few good cheap prebuilt PC's
This is an ok prebuilt PC
Try pcpartpicker, ask on /r/buildapc. Custom built are really the way to go nowadays :).

It's a pretty decent build. Not great, but inside your price range. I know it's definitely better than that console.
If you want a decent gaming PC, check out the subreddit buildapc.
Looks promising, you could also squeeze in a Hyper 212 EVO and maybe some good thermal compound for your CPU, depends on your budget.
Not sure about the motherboard, no customer reviews on it but the specs looks good.
Also, Crucial BallistiX Sport 8GB Kit essentially have the same specs as Team Vulcan 8gb but is a dollar less on amazon :)

I have 2x 4gb of DDR3. Should be these exactly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006WAGGUK?tag=amz-mkt-chr-us-20&ascsubtag=1ba00-01000-org00-win10-other-nomod-us000-pcomp-feature-pcomp-wm-8-wm-3-wm-4-wm-1&ref=aa_pcomp_exp1 I think they actually were installed in the wrong slots but I changed them and it didn't help. I don't know if most motherboards are similar but mine were installed side-by-side in blue and black slots so I changed them both to blue slots.
Well, I'm in need of more ram anyway . I'm experiencing stuttering in a few games like BF1 where if I have anything else open in the game, my game stutters and becomes unplayable. So I wanted to upgrade my ram and see should upgrade it to a higher speed bandwidth or just add to the current set I have now and worry about the cpu cooler?
This is the kit I have
What I was considering
From what I can see, you already have a hard drive and a power supply which is awesome as it cuts costs. However, looking at minimum requirements, a gtx 750ti would be something I'd bank on to run on the machine, but the thing is about $110 in the states and I'm not sure how people in Romania typically get their parts. Beyond that, we're sitting at 1/3 of your budget already without considering a motherboard and a processor. Spitballing some numbers, I can guess an i3 would be around 120$ + a motherboard (1150 chipset) around the cost of $60. Going with that motherboard you would need to scrap your current ram (if you got any) and buy a 4gbx2 set which will run you $36.99. So, all that together so far has you at $330.
Not sure if I'm missing anything (and I'm doing my best from mobile) so sorry if I do. Mind you, this is all in the states so I'm not sure how you'd get your products.
Total = $677.17 without SDD or HDD. A bit more with that included.
If that's too much, you could drop the graphics card to a 760, which would save you about $150, which you could spend on a nice SSD.
That's what I told him I thought was happening. I've had it for 3 years and never noticed any problems
Thanks for verifying, though!
While I have you, and I'm sure this is a stupid question, but if I buy this, can I only use 2 of them and give the 3rd away?
I can get this, but it's cheaper for 3 sticks than it is for 2, so if I can do that, I will
If I currently have the ram listed below, these Kingston ones would be the same correct? Cause everyone says ram is ram and they both have same specs
