She already has this one (Mad Love), but that's it.

Well the Rebirth event going on right now is a great place to start for buying ongoing comics, if you aren't intimidated. Here's a longer post I've written for someone else.

If you just want to get your feet wet... Batman: Mad Love and Other Stories. It is written and illustrated by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, who created those animated series you love and the main story of this comic eventually became an episode.

The book that was the impetus for me to walk in the door of my local comic book store is Dark Night: A True Batman Story, also written by Paul Dini. It's a true story about Paul Dini being mugged back in the 90's when he was working on Batman: The Animated Series. I don't think I could have asked for a better entry into comics.

You should read Harley's origin story, Mad Love. Essentially, the Joker did just talk to her, but he manipulated her over the course of many weeks of conversations, and she was not the most mentally stable person to begin with.

Better than mine!

You should get Mad Love though, it's great. The title story is Harley Quinns origin story, but it includes pretty great stories focused on several villains. The Two-Face one in particular was fantastic.

If you want to read about her original origins I highly recommend picking up a copy of Mad Love, and other stories

Saw she's picked up Batgirl - I've been enjoying the new 52 run of Supergirl when I pick that up, also in the Bat-family I would check around for a copy of Batman: Mad Love and Other Stories - it's the writers from and based on Batman: The Animated Series (the old on from 1992) so it's pretty friendly to the younger crowd... but it's also an excellent story in my opinion...

I've heard the current Ultimate Spiderman run is pretty good, and Spidey usually seems to target that age range, but I can't speak to it personally as I haven't read it yet...

I would also take a look at Image/IDW - they tend to have a lot of stuff from other properties like movies and books - so perhaps she'll find something there that's another property she enjoys...

hope it helps!

I swear to puppies I'm going to throw a psychotic fit.

There's this one that I have, I think they bundled it with some other stories in a paperback. I'm definitely interested in the original comic as long as it's in nice shape.

It was also a very good comic that got adapted into that episode. The comic adds a little more and is just a little more disturbing in a way

I've noticed that the Dark Knight Rises has created a small price hike for Batman comics on Amazon, also, I recommend Mad Love and Arkham Asylum.

Right now I am relaxing a bit, then I will clean a little, and then I teach my graphic narrative class this afternoon.

I think you need this so you can keep all of your essential revision tool and your break things, without having to relocate. XD

Something fun on my wishlist is this Harley Quinn graphic novel because I teach graphic narrative and my favorite comicbook gal is Harley Quinn. :P

Who needs revision?!
