Source: use with my phone for music yt etc and to use for chat and use with xb1 controller so a mic is a must (plugs in to controller via regular headphone jack nothing special) just as a temporary replacement until I can get a better pair in a few months.
Preference: in ear purely because of the price range if you can find a headset thats good for this price I'll be surprised.
