$1000 isn't much to work with, but you can still get a decent setup.

Receiver: Denon 530

Towers: Bic PL-89

Total comes to $1069, but I don't think you will have any complaints about this setup.

If you really want to go cheap, get some Polk Monitor 70s which I routinely see on sale for $170-180, a matching center from Crutchfield's scratch and dent for about $70 with the same sub and receiver.

Whatever you do, have some patience and just wait until Black Friday. Last year Best Buy had Polk and Klipsch stuff on sale for 50% off. You might be able to snag some Polk Signature S55s or Klipsch Reference series for cheap.

Wow that TV is going to be smashed up there..

Well, No center channel for you. You can't get away with mounting one nearly anywhere. Good news is you can fit some nice speakers on the sides of the Fireplace. I advise against towers for now because even tall ones would be too low.

Instead look for LCR speaker. These are designed for Left Center and Right channel use. They are usually pretty big sporting double drivers. Some examples are

Emotiva 6.2's

Acoustech PL-28's

HTD Level 3

Of course smaller bookshelves would work too, but what fun are they.

This BIC PL28 center channel has a higher sensitivity rating than the speakers you have picked out. So it will play plenty loud to keep up https://www.amazon.com/BIC-Acoustech-PL-28II-Center-Speaker/dp/B001VIPUFU/ref=asc_df_B001VIPUFU/

This BIC speaker may fit the bill (dual 8"), and BIC is said to be on the bright side, so the sound signature might decently match. I doubt Klipsch centers from other lines will be timbre matched.

Best Buy does sell BIC America – just the crappy ones. See if they will order these and price match Amazon. I haven't done the calculations but I think that brings you right in at 1200+ the sub. Or see if you can sell your Best Buy GC. All the speakers have 5-7 your warranties and should last you 15+ years. IMHO

I didn't get much input in /r/hometheater, so I am going to cross-post this here:

> I want to upgrade my home theater setup. I'd like to pick up some higher-end towers, and have been on the wait-list for the Chane A5RX-C's for 6+ months now.
>
> I'm curious if that is still a good upgrade path, or if I should be looking at other options? And if so, what?

> I've been happy with the efficiency and clarity of the BICs. Definitely enjoyed the volume. I'm just looking to upgrade and in a better place financially than I was two years ago. Curious what I could get for a few dollars more.

>I appreciate the help. Holy crap those prices... I think I payed $150 for the sub and traded an old bycicle for the bookshelves. A new rc 64 looks more expensive than my whole set up, lol. But the info is useful. I'll keep an eye out for anything similar on Craigslist or in the pawn shops

The RC-62 ll is $279 shipped by Amazon. You're wheeling dealing skills aside that's not expensive at all for a matching MTM. If you can find a BIC PL28 ll that is also a good match for Klipsch's horned design and a bit cheaper as well.

The Bic PL89 II may ok for $200. Then get the matching center for $170 BIC Acoustech PL-28II Center Speaker - Black.

Pass on the Pioneer SP-FS52. The matching center is too small for them and only good with the bookshelf version.

The Klipsch RF-82 II may be good if you can even find the matching center for a reasonable price which can be a challenge. Good if you can get them for less than $400 without the sub or even for $400 with the sub. The SW-112 has a BASH amp and goes as low as 26Hz and may be as good as the BIC F12 or the Bic-Acoustech-PL-200 $250.

The ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2 Towers are half price on sale for another few days, $400 for the pair.

Or the ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 bookshelf speakers for $150 pair. Though stands will be $60 to $120.

The center for both is the ELAC Debut 2.0 C6.2 for $140.

For the subwoofer, SVS BF Sale: $500 for the PB12-NSD.
