I'm a bit late to this thread but I hope you see this.


I would highly suggest getting your daughter some whole food complex multivitamins and a high quality fat supplement, such as fermented cod liver oil.




I do realise these can be expensive but from what you described in your edit, she is doing what most humans do. When we are lacking key nutrients, we seek out food types that mimic that which we are deficient in. It comes out as craving sweets or salt or fat or dairy because these foods correlate to what our bodies are missing. With western diets, especially with finicky kids, it's close to impossible to ensure we get a full range of the nutrients we need. Multivitamins and fat supplements are a simple way to achieve this.

Not stupid at all! I avoid the "fish burps" by taking my FCLO in the evening. I can't speak for how the other flavors of the gel taste as I have not tried them. Another option you could look into, if you're considering taking FCLO, is to look into taking them in capsule form. These are a bit less cost-effective but help circumvent the fishy taste.

Eat eggs and go out in the sun. Your body uses the sunlight to convert the cholesterol to vitamin D... if you're low on cholesterol your body can't make vitamin D no matter how much time you spend in the sun.

If all you want is a supplement, I take these during the winter when I don't get out much.
