Specs:
I can confirm that the S305 is not a Class I device. When paired with my phone, computer (built in), or MOTOACTV, the range is ~25'.
This is the dongle I have, but I bought mine is 2008.
This is the one I currently recommend.
Nope.
At home I use all 360 controllers. But I recently bought this for this same reason. On my desktop PC I use it for Wiimotes & Dolphin emulator.
On the go, I bring the dongle with me to play co-op games on my razor thin laptop (which already has BT) when I go to a friend's house for example.
My laptop is an i7, Intel HD IGP, 8 GB. I play mostly Helldivers, Broforce, Rocket League, Battleblock Theater, Sega All Star Racing, Badlands. Using 2 DS3 controllers that I keep in my car's trunk.
Keep in mind that SCP Toolkit overwrites the driver installed on your PC, not the dongle's firmware. So, on my desktop PC it's a standard BT dongle. On my laptop it's a PS3 controller dongle.
So, for $12.99 this dongle provides a good set of benefits for me.
