The L-Com is massive and extremely high gain, meaning you could run into issues in a rough anchorage, but it does reach out very far. The BoatAnt's are just great all-purpose marine antennas. I use two on my LTE radio mounted on the spreaders and I routinely get 1+mbit/sec out in the middle of Lake Ontario (at least 15NM).
