These ones from Bossi on Amazon are available in gray and are less than $20. Haven't used them myself, but people say they are not bad for the price.

In your experience how are the cheaper PBT keycaps that I keeps seeing around (~$10-20). Like I found these which would work with my cheap as dirt US ISO board. I just want to make sure that I don't replace garbage caps with garbage caps haha. If there aren't reasonable options in that price range or cheaper than it is not worth it.

Also, how bad would it be to have the center keys as PBT and the everything else as ABS? would that be awkward?

If all else fails I might just try to get a grab bag and make franken-board!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha! Typically people replace the stock sets with really nice ones, and mine have been cheap so far. This set, (which I got as a 108 key set; can't find my old link atm) feels similar to the stock Anne keycaps, and imo looks better, except that the lighting through the legends is pretty uneven on some keys. This cheap set on Amazon feels OK, but quite thin, and still has the typical backlit doubleshot font splits that don't look great. It's a little more textured than the NPKC and Anne caps. And then this Tai Hao set currently on Massdrop is imo really nice looking, but the texture is a bit rougher than I'd like.

Initially I thought I'd like much rougher textures, but then I figured out the thing I like about PBT is that it always feels dry to me. The Anne and NPKC caps are my personal sweet spot for texture so far. Stock Anne keycaps also have side print legends that I still use (pgup, pgdn, home, end, etc), and the lighting looks brilliant through them imo, so I'm sticking to those on my Anne for now. The font doesn't bother me like it does most folks.

I've got a set of Gateron blank PBTs in the mail for another board, which I anticipate might feel appreciably different due to their thickness. Who knows, my days of keycap slumlording may be over soon.

Apologies for formatting; I'm on mobile

Yep they are even double shot PBT

I think so, if I'm understanding what you're asking.

For testing purposes I bought this set of ISO/ANSI keycaps and this set of costar type stabilizers. I'll report back once they come in.

So, I finally got my first mech, and am looking for some replacement caps. I was looking for something backlight compatible and I found these PBT caps from a brand called Bossi, and I couldn't find any pictures/reviews of these caps on the subreddit and was wondering if anyone had experience with this brand or these caps specifically.

I know that #2 isn't backlight compatible, but I just like them lol
