Wow, 14 years old and already curious about watches? I wish i had started back then with such enthusiasm!

We'll start with the SKX007: Good watch, i can see it is a slight bit above your price range but as far as a classic diver look goes you can't really get much better. For me though the band leaves something to be desired and that is where this watch just seems a little off. I'm not a big fan of rubber, for a diver i would much rather prefer a leather band or a metal oyster band which is what is exactly on the Orient Mako.

With the Orient Mako you'll find there are a lot of people here and in other watch forums that enjoy this watch very much. It is below your price range by a significant amount. The look of it is what more would say is the quintessential diver look.

The only watches that i may offer for your consideration in the diver category below your budget would be the Citizen Eco-Drive Professional Diver or the Bulova Marine Star. I really like the Bulova because it kills two birds with one stone for you with a watch that is diver-like but it would also go well with a blue suit (you said dress, if you happen to be a girl looking for a divers watch i will be happy to modify my suggestions Scratch that, upon looking through your history it is obvious you are a boy. No offense was meant, it was just me taking the wording a little to seriously from a non-native speaker). Citizen is a great brand and you'll be able to find throngs of people singing its praises and that watch would be no exception. The rubber band on it is a little off putting but for the money you're saving you could certainly buy a band to replace it!

In terms of a cheap dress watch that could go with a blue suit/dress might i suggest a Tissot T-Classic? The brown leather with the white face would go very well with a navy blue suit. If not that then a super cheap Timex Easy Reader might be more up your alley! The price is very reasonable, the look of it would make it more of a dress watch, and with the brown band, gold case, and creme face it would fit very nicely within a dressy setting.

If you would like more suggestions then i would be happy to provide some but until then i hope you have a great time watch hunting and go you for wanting to cultivate a collection early on! May what ever watch you buy serve you well!

First time I saw this watch was a few years ago when I graduated. Online, it seemed like a mismatch... leather band with a stainless steel diver, two tone?

Saw it in person and fell in love. Understated two tone, still sporty, but great with casual brown shoes to go with it. Well, a few months ago, the gold bezel ring popped off and got lost. Bulova quoted me a high price to make the repair, so I'm just keeping it as is. I still think it looks nice!

Once you're spending 160 you are spending enough to buy a quartz watch instead of a mechanical/automatic watch. Quartz watches generally keep better time than mechanical watches.

Here is a Bulova watch for example. And another

This Bulova is a bit dressier, but even cheaper at 100 bucks while still getting a quartz movement.

Skagen also offers quartz at this pricepoint with a bit of a simpler look

Or else there's a few sportier watches, like this Nautica.

I'm not a watch expert, but just know a bit from researching my own potential purchases.
