Female cable sockets can be bought any good electronics shop.

The problem is that Grados are a bit of a pain to mod because they've got a split cable.

There's this video where he makes it a non-split cable and detachable, but you can see it's a lot of work.

Search around on Google and you can find a few guides, most of them appear to be on the Hi-Fi forums. There's also a couple of guides I found elsewhere like this one and this one.

If you're looking just for the actual hardware, easiest search term to find them is something like "3.5mm panel mount". Problem is you can't just use a mount like that on the Grados because you need mono on either side, or to do that single side mod I linked at the top.

My idea for my Grados is to put in 2 female RCA connectors on either side, and then I can just use 3.5mm to RCA cable. But I've no idea how exactly feasible it is, especially if the cables would even stay attached with the weight of the cable tugging down on them.

Thanks to the advice of this sub, I've ordered some Diamond 220, a SA-50 and following recommendation from amazon, some wires.

these to connect the PC to the amp https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000NHOMSQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

these plugs https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013P36KRU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and these wires https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006RHF1RC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

just got the wires and I'm puzzled: they are double wires, one with a blue stripe on the plastic coat. How am I supposed to use them?

(I'm still waiting for the speakers to be delivered)

Thank you all!

Monitor Audio MR2s and a small amp. Don't forget to buy some speaker wire and eventually a 3.5mm to RCA cable.
