Casio MQ-24. Analog, minimal, cheap, waterproof, it rules. I like my black and gold one a lot. http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Mens-MQ24-1E-Analog-Watch/dp/B000GAWSHM/ref=pd_sbs_watch_1

Casio F91W-1

Casio MQ24-1E

Casio MQ24-7B

Timex Men's Expedition Scout

These are what I have and rotate through, they're pretty great.

I have a backpack I carry most of this in and lots of pockets!

Clockwise from the top left:

  • Littmann Classic II SE stethoscope
  • Notebook, penlight w/ pupil gauge, alcohol prep pads, ID badge
  • Lactase pills because I'm lactose intolerant but like burritos
  • Allegra because I hate allergy season
  • Propranolol because public transit and enclosed spaces scare me
  • Klonopin because sometimes beta blockers just don't cut it
  • Lotion because nothing's worse than putting hand sanitizer on dry skin
  • Tylenol
  • Bike lights, 15 mm wrench, tire levers, inner tube, hand pump
  • Keys, spare bike key, flashlight
  • Umbrella
  • Tissues, gum, headphones
  • Pens, permanent marker, lip balm, wallet, moneys
  • Moto X & Dell Inspiron 7348 13"
  • Not pictured: Casio MQ24-1E watch (only $8!!), bike U-lock

Definitely agreed, but a lot of those a ridiculously expensive.

They do look damn good though.

[example 2](http://i.imgur.com/oSGze3x.jpg] (More of a classic watch)

example 3 I'm actaully considering getting this one because it's in my price range.

Pretty much all of these examples or in more of a classic style though.

My gf has the #12 Casio. For $10 you definitely can not go wrong with this watch

u/coldcorners · 6 pointsr/minimalism

I bought a Casio from Amazon which I really liked. Kind of way under your budget, but it works really well and looks way more expensive than it is.

u/zachstanley · 6 pointsr/ImSavingUpForThis

Reminds me of this . Except the casio is $14.

u/herereadthis · 5 pointsr/Watches

If we're going by grey market prices,

  • Vacheron Constantin Patrimony - $14,975
  • Casio F-91W - $11.43
  • Casio MQ24-1E - $6.49

    Total Cost: $14,990.92

But for MSRP watches, it's completely different landscape: It's really hard to find watches in the $11-15K range.

It begins with the Dark Side of the Moon at $12,000 and an emptiness continues to around $20K for the ultra-luxury brands.

It's as if the Swiss decided that if you're going to spend more than 10 thousand dollars on a watch, you might as well go all the way and get something double what you originally intended.

This is the only watch I have. Cheap as hell, but damn it's slick.

u/braff_travolta · 4 pointsr/ChinaTime

Sure thing, it's a Casio resin. Super cheapo, I usually buy a white face one and a black one like this one every 6 months or so, wear em to the gym or when I'm bumming around. I usually end up either breaking them or giving them away.

u/mkestrada · 4 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

u/lapsuscalumni · 3 pointsr/minimalism

I have a more monochrome themed outfit but this is a pretty affordable minimalist watch if you are looking for an everyday wear watch that you can beat up and wear in the rain.

u/theonlysaviorCOD · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

What does everybody think of this watch? I know it does not have a leather strap, is there anything I can do about that? I really like the minimal look and I want to ease into wearing a watch. Any advice for me?

u/4InchesOfury · 3 pointsr/surfing

Really, if you just want something that would tell you the time in the water I suggest a cheap/simple watch like this. $10 and it does a good job of telling time.

u/ZenPlanet · 3 pointsr/minimalism

I've owned a Casio MQ24-1E for awhile now, brilliant watch. Cheap, too.

u/Stellavolta · 3 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

Check out this Casio watch as well.

I actually own that one and wear it with just about everything.

Edit: Just wanted to add that I actually wore it with my blue jeans and black V today...And god damn did it look sexy.

u/fiadiana · 3 pointsr/Watches

How about 4 of these? One for everyone in the family!

Casio Men's MQ24-1E Black Resin Watch

u/collias · 2 pointsr/surfing

Honestly, if you just need something to tell you the time, this watch will do fine.

I've had mine for a while and haven't had any issues with it. Plus, since it's only $10, if you lose it for some reason, who cares.

u/dopafiend · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

On the other suggestions topic.

This Casio is my own everyday minimalist watch, obviously won't work for anything formal being plastic, but mine's lasted me 2 years and I never ever have to worry about it using it everyday being so cheap, doesn't matter if I knock it on something, swim with it, shower with it.

u/timmythetoole · 2 pointsr/Watches

With your budget I'd suggest also looking at Casio such as https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GAWSHM but if you have your heart set on Timex, you can't go wrong.

I got this one:

Casio

Seiko

Polo

I will admit it was tough to search a brand name on Amazon's watch department and then select "sort low to high", but I'm pretty good with that sort of thing

u/requestedRerun · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Mens-MQ24-1E-Analog-Watch/dp/B000GAWSHM/ref=pd_sbs_watch_1 is pretty much the same but an all-black face with gold hands. I got it recently and I've already gotten compliments on it, even though it's a cheap 10 dollar watch

Idk if its streetwear, but i bought this casio for $10 a month ago and i love it. The face is tiny though, but i like it cause im skinny af

u/shadowbanningsucks · 2 pointsr/Watches

Some suggestions, these are mainly 35mm.

Casio MTP1093E8A

Timex Gold analogue

Casio MQ-24 this is probably cheaper than what you are looking for but I throw it out because it is a good smaller watch.

u/hayyoyou · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

The Casio MQ24 series is pretty popular and extremely inexpensive. This is my favorite of the bunch.

u/HazyPeanut · 2 pointsr/streetwear

I think the lighting was weird lol, but yeah. I got mine from Amazon and it's held up for the past six months, but I've also seen the same one at American Apparel I think

u/I_wear_suits_daily · 2 pointsr/Watches

I've worn this watch for the past year and it's served me well. The rubber band is practically integrated with the watch and it's comfortable to wear. It's well within your price range too.

u/ixnayhombre · 2 pointsr/ReviewThis

http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Mens-MQ24-1E-Analog-Watch/dp/B000GAWSHM/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1312264456&sr=8-9

Its not exactly a formal watch, but the black/gold look is simple and elegant. For skinny wrists, the band grips nice without dangling. The band also isn't metal, but you can't generally tell. Its a low-profile watch all-around.
The usual story with this watch is: Bought it for casual use/crappy throwaway while traveling, but ended up wearing it 24/7 and bought another when it wore out. I think some of the reviews even say that. My dad and I both had one (stocking stuffers) and loved them. He only wears a different one now because it was a gift, and I don't wear watches. (Skinny wrists run in the family)

u/lelumberjole · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I have this Casio and have received a lot of compliments on it. There are a lot of similar style available if you just search "Casio watch" on Amazon or something. And it's less than ten bucks.

u/geoffreythehamster · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

How about this?

Casio MQ24-1E

I'm not sure if you're looking for something more high-end but that is a pretty nice watch for a very frugal price.

Some other nice Seiko watch :

Seiko

Bulova Dress Watch

Also you can get a band, that completely changes everything about the watch.

Cloudy Sky Leather Watch Band

You could just keep buying MVMT and just make sure to get it at a fair price - IE, 50%+ off - via gray market sellers.

Maybe Timex will have something with the same minimalist design you like, but sadly the legit brands in your price range (Casio, Citizen, Seiko, Orient) haven't quite nailed the minimalist aesthetic. They've given it a shot to try to claw some of the market back, but honestly I think the results are not great. For example, here's Casio's attempt at a minimalist watch: https://www.amazon.com/Casio-MQ24-1E-Black-Resin-Watch/dp/B000GAWSHM/ref=sr_1_14

The price is certainly more honest than the $200 MSRP that Daniel Wellington will try to charge for cheaper/worse quality of build and components, but the design is still just a little... off, right? Too much text, hands lack refinement, didn't quite nail that minimalist aesthetic. So if someone looks at this Casio and decides they want a DW instead, I can't entirely fault them. I would just recommend that they find someone selling that DW watch at a more honest price (IE, around $50).

If you start moving upmarket into the $500-$1k range you can look at legit brands like Junghans, Nomos, Hamilton, etc. that do the minimalist design right. These will last longer as the construction and component quality will be higher.

Or you could just buy a MVMT on ebay or joma for $50. At $50 it's not really a ripoff; it's basically disposable. Watch enthusiasts will sneer at the brand and might assume you got ripped off at full retail price, but most people won't care. And you will basically never meet a "watch person" out in the real world unless you actively seek them out.

u/okaytran · 1 pointr/EDC

I got this similar casio. I really wanted one that was convenient and didn't stick out too much.

u/JoeStapes · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

If you like it, get it. I've owned this one for about three years now and it's still going strong. It's durable and doesn't feel "cheap".

The MQ-24 is actually fairly well regarded over on /r/watches. Check out some of the comments on it here. The strap is removable if you want to replace it, but personally I don't think a leather strap would fit with its aesthetic.

u/audi27tt · 1 pointr/CFA

I recommend you strap up with this baby https://smile.amazon.com/Casio-MQ24-1E-Black-Resin-Watch/dp/B000GAWSHM/

Or if you really want to ball out, Timex weekender is a classic https://smile.amazon.com/Timex-Unisex-T2P142-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B00B2I167K/

u/benny121 · 1 pointr/minimalism

Casio's been making minimal watches right, in my opinion, for a while now.

u/WorldClassDog · 1 pointr/Watches

I really like this Casio Black Resin watch however I already lost about 5 of them. I am wondering if there is anyway to prevent the watch from falling off of my wrist.

u/notaneggspert · 1 pointr/Watches

Right now this $10 Casio is the only slightly dressy watch I have.

I like it but the crystal (plastic?) has gotten more and more scratched from general wear. I don't think I want a nylon band since the watch will get wet frequently if I wear it while working.

I don't have a lot of money to spend but would like to get a slightly nicer analog watch with a date function for under $100. I plan to use this watch while bartending so it will be splashed in triple sinks for a few hours every day. But I might just wear the Casio I have now while working since it's already slightly dickerd and only $10.

So far I've found these two through Amazon:

$21 Tonnier

$29 Timex Easy Reader

If someone had a gun to my head I'd buy the Timex but I'm not in a rush to buy and need to do more research.

I'll link a few more to get an idea of the style I'm looking for. Definitely looking for a smaller watch that won't get in the way or snagged on stuff.

$25 SONGDU

$22 Biden

$20 Curren

$24 VAVC

Didn't do much research into those last couple but just linking the style I'm looking for and I'll add some more on. I like high contrast black/white faces but I'm also cool with red/brown/blue accents but the more color neutral the better.

Anyone have any preferences? Are these just going to go dead in a few weeks or are they priced so low because they have minimalistic tendencies?

u/joai3 · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I got this watch from amazon like two years ago. It's my everyday watch and goes with most things.

u/h83r · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

smaller knot and brown pants instead of the blue on blue.

Edit: We can't see your shoes!

I agree with /u/mywifebroughtmehere, a watch is a good accessory. I found some really cheap ones on amazon that are simple and clean looking. I didn't want to buy expensive watches until I had some cheap ones to learn what I want on an expensive watch.

cheap watch 1

cheap watch 2

I see 3 different patterns within a 6in circle from each other. I think you would be better off with a light green pocket square to match your tie. That checkered part on your shirt is weird with the plaid, but I doubt it's visible much when the jacket is on.

u/Money_Train · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Necklace:
Go on amazon and find a stainless steel chain like this one. Then get some jeweler's wire at your local arts and crafts store to loop charms or whatever you want through the gaps in the links. (Stay away from crosses or Stars of David to avoid the walking cliche who's mother dresses him)

Wrist game:

Three pack of these will give you some color options to play with.

Maybe throw a bead bracelet to get a stack going.

Then blast them with the classic Casio watch to seal the deal.

u/HowMightyDoes · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Fossil has done me well for the most part, and timex. I have yet to venture into the more expensive watches.

If you want a really cheap watch that works pretty damn well with everything, check this casio out. I bought it recently and have been wearing it a lot. You don't have to worry about scratching, forgetting, or misplacing it since another one is always 2 days and 10 bucks away.

u/llamallamafiesta · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

have you looked at casio watches yet? cheap but it looks classy
P.S I have small wrists as well.

u/spedmonkey · 1 pointr/Watches

So, something like this? Or this? Or this? Are those too busy for you? I'm sure we'd be able to guide you toward something you like.

u/serenefiendninja · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

I actually use this as a casual watch. Be aware though it's pretty small.

u/JackApollo · -1 pointsr/Watches

Let me just start off by saying I have no clue about anything with watches. I'm a total newbie. I've been wanting a nice watch for so long, and coming across this subreddit and searching around has really been a wild ride. I realized that I really liked the leather straps + bronze combination, so I was looking for something of the sorts. Well, I went to a Military base and bought this Guess U0494G2 for around $55, due to a massive sale. I used to have a very cheap Casio MQ24-1E, which I never really liked. This watch, however, is one of my favorites, and I can't wait to wear it around! :)

If you have nothing but negativity to say, please just keep it to yourself. I'm very happy with this purchase, and nothing can really change that.
