My main issue with linking calories to hydration is I drink to thirst but take in calories on a schedule.

I'm a BIG fan of gummies like the ClifBloks. Have you tried them? I usually squeeze one or two out of the tube and just let them sit and dissolve in my mouth. I also like the SIS packs that are larger but basically liquid gels that do not require to be taken with hydration.
