I think you have it slightly backwards. A corporation's allegiance to a person is what will make the person more loyal to the corporation than to his nation-state. Why should anyone defend a corporation that shows no loyalty to them?

For the moment, corporations are held to be machines-for-profit, looking for any stuff to sell to create shareholder value. Higher-purpose corporations like Google and Whole Foods Market are still in the process of emerging on the world stage.
