Hey!

So I made the diagram and I think this will actually work for you.

Here is the diagram.

What you will need is listed under the diagram, but I will tell you here too.

Cable Extension (Long)

Cable Extension (Short)

Molex Y Splitter

Add2PSU Adapter

You will basically use the Y Splitter to plug one female end into your MOBO, then use the other female end of the Y Splitter to plug into the Male end of the extension. The other end (female) of that extension will plug into the Add2PSU adapter. You will then take your external PSU's 24 pin ATX connector and plug that into the Add2PSU adapter as well.

You can then take one of the PCI-E power cords from your external power supply and power your new gapahics card!

Your new external PSU will now turn on as soon as your normal machine is turned on!

You will have cables on the outside of your case, as well as a PSU, and possibly the Add2PSU adapter. You might want to use velcro to somehow secure these together. You might also need to buy extensions for your PCI-E power adapter, if the cord isnt long enough. It would be best if you found a place to house all of this, but it wont be too big of an issue as long as the external PSU is able to breath and properly ventilate. Please make sure nothing falls into the PSU as well (maybe mount it on its side).

Great! Thanks again! The extension cable is exactly what I need. I wished the seller would ship to Europe, but at least I can now try to search for similarly named items here.

With Molex to SATA connectors there is of course always the trouble of choosing the right gender, and the trouble that the vast majority of SATA connectors are the "molded" type that catches fire (more precisely, they are not the type that "Does Not Catch Fire", in the words of Mark Furneaux). The cable https://www.amazon.com/Coolerguys-4-Pin-Molex-Sleeved-Extension/dp/B0014XDBIA?th=1&psc=1 would have both ends the opposite gender of what I need in my particular case (SATA end plugs into into a HDD, Molex end plugs into Molex output from power supply), and is the molded SATA type.

Thank you also for pointing out the name "LP4". I didn't know that.

Like I said, finding out what these things are called is the hardest part. Apperantly what you are looking for is Molex LP4 power connector and a 12 pin SATA connector.

Search for those connector kits and you should be good.
All that being said, you might just be best getting a molex extension cable :
