Agreed. As long as the parts are compatible, which we can help with, assembling a pc is the way to go. This budget is difficult, though. Ideally you’d budget $250 (210€?)just for the graphics card. You really want a GTX1060. The graphics card is everything in a gaming computer. You won’t have much budget left; that means bare minimums on everything else.

This build is an excellent place to start:

PCGamer.com cheapest gaming computer build

Intel Pentium G4560
GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
ASRock B250M Pro4
Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4-2133
Crucial MX300 275GB
EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze PSU

Don’t forget a copy of Windows 10, a decent mouse, keyboard, monitor, and headphones or speakers.

Also I’ll suggest you reuse an old 7200rpm SATA hard drive (250gb+)if you have one in an old PC. This isn’t ideal, but it will help control costs and while it will make the game load slower than the Crucial MX300 listed above, it wont really affect gameplay.

To cut down on costs, get a cheaper case, like a corsair 100r (upgrade case later) , forget the ssd for a while, lose the case fans -> buy some cheap generic ones, buy the r7 1700 and asus 480 8gb OC and keep everything else the same.

Pc's are easily upgradeable and "transplanting" your specs from a case to another is simple.

Unless you dont want to do the extra effort, just save up to buy everything at once. Which ever one you prefer is up to you.

Damn. Making my job a bit difficult, there.

This is the closest I can find. It looks acceptable imo, but I'd change the fans if you don't like the red LED's.

Your options open up a lot if you're willing to get a plastic panel instead of glass for what it is that you want under $50.

If you're willing to do plastic, this might work. Much more traditional.

Amd Ryzens are pretty nice at the moment and cheap. Ryzen 1600 is a good choice. I recommend a SSD disk and a second one HDD so you have a faster system and also an storage disk. Graphic card will be the hardest. Maybe a cheap 1050 2 gb will do.

The total is around 700. You may need to add some more things put this is enough for full functionallity. Also, I wouldnt buy the parts on amazon, but this way you can search them in a good electronics shop from your country which adds the assembly. Standards can be changed easily, that depends on what you preffer.

Great, thanks. I'm a little concerned about overheating the GPU, since the original case wasn't designed for use with a high-end GPU.

However, I don't know how to tell whether a case will have good enough ventilation. Do you think this one would be OK?

u/Craycoala · 1 pointr/buildapc

Ok so I'm getting conflicting info about this case on whether or not it can fit the Hyper 212 Evo. On PCPartPicker it lists it as incompatible because there isn't enough clearance but on amazon there is a review stating it barely fits. Here's the review: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/review/B00RORBQNW/R3HT4RQ959HQGG/ref=cm_cr_dp_mb_rvw_1?ie=UTF8&cursor=1

If you decide to get the Hyper 212 Evo just be warned it could end up not fitting. Now, if you aren't even going to get the Hyper 212 and just use the stock cooler everything will fit fine.

Ok, here it all is, can you tell me if they are compatible, and even if you cant do you feel like i should exchange some of the stuff for cheaper parts, i mainly want to play: ARK, Rust, Overwatch, SkyrimSE, Borderlands 2, Shadow of War, Nier Automata, PUBG, CSGO and GTAV, If you feel like the build is too much for these games what do you think i should change? (I dont mind having graphics on low, i'm not a good graphics type of guy, so if you feel like i should have something else that wouldnt let me run on HIGH settings i dont mind (: )

I re-responded because you couldnt see what i had on my cart XD

u/tomkatt · 1 pointr/buildapc

Mostly good. SSDs seem a little warm at around 41-45c. CPU is getting to the upper 50s and low 60s c.

It's running in a small case though, which might impact it. It's a Corsair Carbide 100R Mid/Mini Tower.

It's also only got one intake and exhaust fan, and the case is horizontal to set up in my entertainment console. There's a second 80mm intake, but it's inside the case blowing horizontally under the GPU to provide additional airflow. I gotta order some more 120mm fans.

The case configuration is weird because I was previously running a Thermaltake Core v1 with a 200mm intake and dual 80mm rear exhausts, but this card wouldn't fit in that case so I had to replace it and pop in fans from what I had on hand, the Corsair only came with the exhaust..

Maybe think about a different case, and a blower fan is NOT a good idea. Been there, done that and got the t shirt. Maybe something like this:

This comes with 2 fans, although if you want to go full silent, you could replace them for a couple of these:

The RX580 has a mail-in rebate making it a $200 card, I already have a hdd, copy of windows, monitor, and necessary peripherals. Is there any way I can optimize it? The case I'm actually getting is the Corsair Carbide 100R, that was the closest case price wise haha (link: https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-CARBIDE-100R-Mid-Tower-Case/dp/B00RORBQNW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537296378&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+carbide+100r). Is big enough for my CPU cooler.

  1. Have you had any problems with your motherboard? I was almost tempted to go with an i5-7500 because I've heard mixed things about some motherboards that worked with r5 (like certain sections overheating like crazy and some don't come with the needed screws and stuff).

  2. What RAM would you recommend that's not too expensive? I'm already pushing my limit on prices and I don't know if I can afford to get faster ram (currently I'm going with Crucial Ballistix Sport 1x8gb)

  3. The second sentence in my post said
    > I already have all the needed peripherals and I have a 1050ti.

Also, the Corsair 100r works with the B350 Tomahawk right? (sorry if that's a stupid question, I just want everything to go smoothly since this is going to be my first build)

Thanks so much for your help!

Really awesome idea, happy to give it a test drive. Finding my config was pretty easy - nice work on that. This setup seems good enough. The only thing I would look at changing is your GPU. See if you can get the 6 GB version.

As for the case, you're gonna have to define 'cheap' but I recently came across the Corsair Carbide 100 R and it seems to be decent enough.

EDIT: If you want to install the OS in the SSD you're gonna buy, you will have to format the C drive on your current HDD.

Man I'm way too indecisive.

So I found this

It's the H500 as opposed to the H400 - thoughts?

What's interesting is that it's bigger than the H400 but actually weighs 0.6kg less. I can get it on Prime Now within 2 hours lol.

Other options on Prime Now are

Just get the standard Corsair 100r and add in two adapters for the 5.25 bays.

u/kgkglunasol · 1 pointr/buildapc

Dumb question incoming- my bf bought us new video cards but we have dell pre built pcs. He's trying to install the new card on his but it's not going to fit. Can we just buy a new case and take everything out of the old one and stick it in the new one?

This is what we currently have and we got these video cards.

Would this tower work to switch everything over to? Hope this makes sense lol.

my favorite "budget" case the s340 $70

corsair 100r $50

If you have prime its free 2 day shipping.

Sorry, I can't see what it costs in euros, however, this is another good one that costs a little less.

u/KrustyKrab223 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'd get a Corsair 100R or a NZXT S340 in that price range.

u/BrainyhawkGaming · 1 pointr/BulletBarry

I would go with the Ryzen 1600. It comes with an okay stock cooler for just 200 dollars. Look up "B350 Ryzen" and you will find lots of motherboards that are cheaper than motherboards that use Coffeelake CPUs. Also, "IMO" i think that this case looks better.

I know Computer hardware is pretty expensive rn but newegg is having some great bundle deals! I recommend trying to get a little bit faster ram because it is not that much more expensive over lower clocked ram.

I hoped this helped you. Sorry it looks so messy, I was in a rush trying to put this together. Happy PC building!

Yes! that case is a good one. slighty tall and big. i have it my self. i no longer have the build i gave it to my little brother but yes. if you want a smaller case, there is the

  • corsair 100r.

if you want an even smaller case that i had for my very first build,

  • coolmaster n200.

the Asus card also fits in this coolmaster case and it's the smallest of the 3 cases.

Keep in mind that the fans in the promo pictures aren't always (or usually) the fans that the cases actually come with. You always have to read the specs, in this case the Thermaltake case actually only comes with 1 fan.

My personal favorite case manufactures are phanteks, nzxt, or fractile design.

I'd probably recommend something like the Enthoo Pro M as I find phanteks cases to be amazing to build in.

If you're looking for something closer in price to the other one then I'd go for something like a Corsair 100R.

Keep in mind most cases will come with at most 1 or 2 fans, if you want more fans you'll have to purchase them separately.

Yeah, I tend to agree. But you can find gamer stuff that's not too bad. Laptops are big offenders like some of Asus' ROG but some is better than others. Something like the HP Omen isn't too bad (it would be better if you could make the back-light white). Some of Dell's stuff looks pretty professional, they just don't tend to reach the same high-end specs unless you get into Alienware or something. Lenovo makes some laptops with good gaming specs that aren't too bad. They do make a more stereotypical 'gaming' line as well though.

A big negative for most stuff is the garish red LEDs. Make it white or RGB so you can change it. IDK why red is the default color and not just a black/white (and thus grey and even aluminum) color scheme isn't the standard. I don't want my laptop to look like it goes in a rice burner from The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Now, I have a Sager laptop that's pretty clean looking and I use some Corsair stuff and they tend to keep it pretty clean looking as well. Say what you want about the RGB-fever, they have designs that aren't garish with crazy lines. Their more basic keyboards look pretty clean as well (Ducky and DasKeyboard are really good mechanical keyboard choices though), their mice aren't too bad either. Just set the RGBs to one color like white and not a strobing rainbow and you can keep a clean aesthetic

Not all "gaming" stuff is made equal though, that's for sure. Sometimes it is a chore and a little compromise to get good gaming hardware that doesn't look awful.

Here's my quick build on it, not perusing for price savings. I could probably shave a few hundred off (i.e. going for air cooling instead of liquid), but if I were going to build one for me, this is how I'd do it. Cost ended up being about on par (~$2,850) for a more powerful machine (GTX1080 > Radeon Pro 580)

Case - $49.99

CPU - $295.00

Motherboard - $114.99

RAM - $126.99

PSU - $129.67

GPU - $576.62

Storage - $139.50

Liquid cooling - $107.99

Display - $1,299.99

Total:
$2840.74

Ways to shave some off -
Look at other monitors, I didn't really hunt too much here as I'm not an expert in that field, so I just looked for a "true" color 5k. I think HP's would fit that bill at around $900 (so $400 cheaper), but I could be wrong, so I went with the more pricey one.

Go with the GTX1070 (saves about $100) or the GTX1060 (saves about $300).

Nix liquid cooling and just go with air cooled (save $107.99)

Which puts a "budget" build of this at ~$2,400, $2,000 if the HP monitor works. Plus, since it's all on Amazon, if you have their store card, -5%, so, that puts us at ~$2280 (-400 if the HP monitor fits the bill) for the budget build and $2,698.70 (-400 if the HP monitor counts) for how I'd actually build it if I were doing it for me.
