Before you pull the trigger, check out Amazon Warehouse Deals on popular dual channel kits of ram. You can easily get ram for half off while keeping the perks of purchasing from amazon if it is DOA.

Do the same thing with the case as well. Budget build, a case is a case but read the reviews on airflow.

I think if you grabbed another stick of 4gb ram, it would help your overall performance because Windows 7 takes up a good amount by itself. Try to get a two sticks that are sold together since they were tested together; something like this might work

Would this work with my mobo? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003N8GVUY/ref=mp_s_a_6?qid=1343944261&sr=8-6
Just want to clarify, im building a desktop.

Also i juust look at the ramm specs and it say its 1.65 volts, is that too much? your link says that is the maximum.

I've been looking around and I thought that maybe with a new processor and extra 8gb ram could get what I need.
Any thoughts?

I was checking this because through my research I found that 2x4GB is way better than single channel 8GB. And compared to the original one that I was setting to buy (this) it's more expansive even though its frequency is 1333Hz

So this http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-PC3-10666-240-Pin-Memory-CMX8GX3M2A1333C9/dp/B003N8GVUY is basically the exact same as the RAM on the list, but packaged as (2x4)? It's cheaper than buying two individual sticks.

I was thinking it must have been unusual, funny that 4 years old is "old tech" now. I can't find a link but according to CPU-Z its made by A-Data (PC2-6400, 400Mhz), CAS latency is 5 clocks and I have 3, 1Gb sticks.

I only have 32-bit Windows but I bought this RAM, just going to use one stick for now until I upgrade more.
