i recently ordered reusable little cotton pads from amazon for that reason! they're made of bamboo velour i believe. incredibly soft and can be washed in the bag they come in. micellar water is so gentle that i think this is a good compromise.

These guys. I just throw em in the wash (be sure to put them in the mesh bag, they're small and can get caught under the agitator). Pretty soft too!
