So from the product manual, that i'm seeing here,

FOR SSD:

your laptop have 1x M.2 PCIe/SATA Combo slot and 1x M.2 PCIe slot. and the ssd that you mentioned in specs is nvme/pcie ssd. Therefore i can assume that you can buy either m.2 sata or m.2 pcie/nvme drive. both will work. but i would recommend buying m.2 ssd for mass storage if you are not doing any kind of video editing. you can buy e.g. crucial mx500 1tb. Or if you are doing video editing or really hard core work that require insane amount of read write ssd speeds then buy samsung 970 evo.

How to configure in laptop:

- if u buy sata ssd: remove the alrdy installed ssd and put it in pcie only slot. put new sata ssd in combo slot.

- if u buy pcie/nvme ssd: install it in the second empty slot. dont touch alrdy installed ssd.

FOR RAM:

since you want 32 gb, you would need to replace both ram sticks. Also since laptop has intel cpu, ram of speeds 2667 are enough. buy a kit of 2x16gb 2667mhz and just replace the old rams. you can buy this and use it. i have recently installed 8gb ballistix stick in my laptop to make it 2x 8gb. works great.

Just installed 32 gb RAM and it won't turn on even after waiting for a good 10 Minutes with the blank screen? I was able to turn it on with the original RAM once I put it back in. Also, for 2666MHz, how do these two compare? Hyper X and Ballistix

Also, this is the 3200 Hyper X. I know the clock speed is higher, but the CL goes from 15 to 20. I am thinking the 2666 CL15 may be the best value

I just checked it again and yeah, my 32GB Crucial Ballistix is running on the 2667mhz CL16 XMP 2.0 profile. I'm not sure what happened with your review unit but my device is running at the advertised speeds.

I believe that Ballistix Sport LT RAM modules can only reach 2666 MHz on gaming laptops with XMP support. This means that on ThinkPad it only runs at DDR4-2400. See the top review on this Amazon product page.

The SSD you've chosen is a decent SSD. Reliable and fast enough for day to day usage.

For the RAM, wouldn't it make more sense to go with 2666 MHz for just a bit more money? If you laptop supports 2666 MHz, I would highly recommend these kits.

I also wouldn't recommend cheaping out on RAM as they require constant usage and lower prices generally means lower quality. A cheap RAM kit that might break will cost you more than a high quality more expensive one that doesn't break. It also applies for SSDs.

would that be adequate? I can't find the samsung ram for less than 100€ per stick, or i have to bring it from USA, having to pay for customs and other... Not worth the price.
