I use this one :)

Even if you don't use it all the time, it's much more convenient than using a stove+pot. Plus you can cook a tiny bit if it's only for the day or a ton if you're meal prepping. And perhaps you'll want to eat more rice since the prep will be much easier (wash your rice in the pot that the rice cooks in and plop it into the cooker) and your rice will still be warm and fluffy the next day 😉

(Wow, cuckoo should sponsor me)

I have the older version of this model. I personally believe the Zojirushi models made in Japan are superiors in comparison to the models made in China.

You might also want to consider the Korean brand called Cuckoo. I've used this model which is fairly popular and it makes better short and medium grain rice than my Zojirushi NS-LAC05XT.

At the end of the day it depends on how often you eat rice, use the keep warm, need a timer (used for soaking or having rice done by a set time), need extra options, or if you'd consider yourself a "rice snob". Plenty of people would be fine with a more basic cooker. My parents who are Chinese eat the commonly found Riceland extra long grain rice using your more basic models single push button rice cooker. My Korean girlfriend's parents have a higher end Cuckoo pressure cooking rice cooker which talks to you and everything and likes to cook mix grain and Gaba rice.

I'd also wager that most of these higher end cookers don't always produce a better cooked rice. Unless you find a better ratio of water or can figure out a different cook time, I haven't been able to cook what I'd consider "perfect" long grain or jasmine rice in these cookers following the generic instructions for white rice. I feel they're more geared towards short and medium varieties as that's what is most commonly eaten in Korean and Japan (major most recommended companies).
