You'll need to find a used or refurbished model to get a thin/light 14 inch laptop with a 970m.

I bought an X3V3 on ebay back in november for $1075 USD.

Other options for you to look into:

Gigabyte P34
MSI GS40

this one is at 1200:

Ok so you need a i5 laptop with a dedicated graphics card which would be 960m or 970m for medium setting for gaming :-). Take a look at this laptop really good reviews, nice built and just 3.78 pounds

this CUK Gigabyte P34Wv4-BWCUK would be great for CAD as well as gaming. it has a strong built quality which should last at least four years, it has a great quad core i7 cpu, 8gb ram, 126gb ssd and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M gpu.

Kinda off topic, but you seem pretty knowledgeable so I have a question. I'm looking at lightly/barely used computers from amazon and need help making a decision between

And

Pretty similar prices, just don't know any reputation either computer may have. Really wanted <5 pounds and it seems most laptops with at least a 960m are 5.3+. Unless you have another recommendation.
