I used to dabble in Treasure Hunting, and can tell you that there is ample ground for 'realism' in Treasure stories. A good example of what I learned about is outlined in Charles Kenworthys books. Also, if you want an overview of the KGC and their ties with Treasure Hunting, you can read Rebel Gold. Both are factual, non-story, accounts of the signs and symbols of Treasure Trails.
