I would offer a third path. I dont think you have to choose between either staying at your current job or grinding leetcode to snag a unicorn. You should think about whether you can capitalize on the expertise you already have by doing content creation and independent consulting to diversify your income so you have flexibility to learn things that interest you... and so you are in charge of your career.

I recently read the book Developer Hegemony by Eric Dietrich. It really made me rethink my goals as a software developer.
