Like anything else, it's just weighing the risks and benefits. Does it suck that you can't breastfeed? Sure, the timing could be better. But A) you've presumably had a chance to do so already (good for bonding, and transferring antibodies) which is better than nothing, and B) you'll presumably be able to resume once things are cleared up. In the mean time, you've got peace of mind by not breastfeeding that your daughter won't wind up glowing in the dark or something :)

On the more practical side: what have you tried? There are hydrolyzed forumlas (effectively pre-digested, to be easier on the kiddo):

If milk for some reason doesn't sit well. Check with your doc/hospital if you haven't - ours had a bunch of samples (they want to get 'em hooked young) and hopefully something will work for a bit.
