This is a webpage-based version of Elasticsearch: The Definitive Guide: A Distributed Real-Time Search and Analytics Engine, originally published in 2015. Most of the text is based on 1.x while some areas have been updated for 2.x. I do not believe it's been updated since.

If you take a look at the github repository for the text you can see some recent updates - but they look limited to fixing broken links.

Yeah lots of stick time is the best. I rebuilt our stack 3 times before I was comfortable with the process and best practices.
