How about [this]9https://www.amazon.com/Eluktronics-P650RS-G-Premium-G-SYNC-Gaming/dp/B01N3OS2YX/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1488002769&sr=1-1&keywords=eluktronics+1070)?
You cannot compare the desktop with a laptop.. A laptop will always be more expensive because of it's portability..In general, it takes more effort putting a portable unit together taking into consideration, cooling , weight etc.... Based on the question though, the ASUS ROG GL502VS-DB71 would be a better performer due to it's better graphics card. If you want real solid build quality though, the Eluktronics wins easily- thanks to it's solid clevo chassis...If you really want the GTX 1070 card, how about this Eluktronics P650RS-G?
Get this or shell out for this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N3OS2YX/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=APTJB2SEQO65W

(this was a hundred dollars cheaper earlier)
Still a good deal for a 1070 laptop that doesn't look like a teenager designed it.
Most likely he was referring to The Eluktronics P650RS-G because it had another 300 USD discount on the current price for last couple of days, hopefully it will do that again on cyber Monday
Would something like this be way better?

I really haven't looked at Gigabyte before, so thank you for the help!
How do Gigabyte's other laptops stack up, and are they worth a look?
Also, even though I'm not really looking at a gaming laptop, this caught my eye recently since it's almost $1000 off and I've heard good things about Eluktronics. Opinion?
The GL502VS is notorious for heating issues. The Clevo P650RS is a much better designed machine. It has an i7, 1070, RGB keyboard, 4 storage slots/bays, 4 ram slots and way better cooling. This link is like a dollar more than that Asus for a better product. Though note if you go to LPC-Digital or XoticPC you can highly customize one to your storage needs or add a 120Hz display.

If you don't care about 144hz, you can get a nice 1060/1070 laptop for under $1500.
