Here you go.

I hope that saved some people some cash.

u/Thukoci · 13 pointsr/Frugal

At 56 cents per battery and 48 per night. That's $26.81 per day, and over $800 per month.
If you buy 48 rechargeables with chargers and a backup set the total cost is only $316.94! That's not even two weeks worth of disposables. They are rated up to 1800 cycles but even if you replace them every 6 months after only 200 cycles that's a yearly savings of $9,124.96. OVER NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS OF SAVINGS IN BATTERIES!!!!!!!

u/shehasit · 12 pointsr/photography

If you're a total, total newb, I suggest the Yongnuo 565EX. 150 bucks and change, has the power and most of the ability of the 580EX II, and if you're not a pro wedding photographer or something where every shot is life or death, it will work fantastic for you. Then you'd have a few shekels left over to buy the Yongnuo 602C radio trigger. They're cheap as dirt. Then you're not limited to line-of-sight, you can fire from another room if you want.

Then get a 4 pack/charger of the Sanyo Eneloop rechargeables.

565EX:
http://www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-YN-565EX-Speedlite-Flash-Canon/dp/B005HYMUX4/

Radio Trigs:
http://www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-Wireless-Trigger-Receiver-Shutter/dp/tags-on-product/B0042TYNJ4

Eneloops:
www.amazon.com/Sanyo-eneloop-Pre-Charged-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B004RP2VNI/

Higher power flash (25% stronger) with more flexibility and options (radio trigger), plus powerful batteries for less than the cost of the 430 EX.

I have two 580EX's and two of these guys. The IR on the EX series is terrible for, say, when you're trying to backlight a subject and the subject is standing between you and the flash. No problem with radio triggers. I have pocketwizards now but the yongnuo triggers can't be beat for the price.

Edit: If you want to save 10 bucks and are willing to wait for out-of-country airmail, found the 565EX for a little less here:

Eneloops are what you want. They hold their charge even when not in use (normal rechargeable batteries lose their charge pretty quickly when just sitting around, while Eneloops can sit around for a year and still have plenty enough charge to be useful.) These are less costly than a play and charge kit (especially when talking about multiple controllers,) you can have a set charging while you're playing, they last thousands of charges, and they are useful for more than just your controller.

You can't charge them in the controller, but there's not really any need - it's easy to have a set charged at all times.

When I was looking to get my father a flashlight, I had a few goals in mind.

  • AA batteries (he already uses rechargable AAs for his digital camera)
  • no strobe modes
  • a really bright mode for outdoors and a dimmer mode for when he's just trying to unlock the back door at night
  • at most three brightness levels, to keep things simple

I am going to project these onto your father, because they were spot on with mine ^_^ (He takes that light^* with him everywhere and uses it constantly.)

Plugging these goals into my flashlight search engine finds 10 matching flashlights. Two models stand out:

  • Jetbeam BA20, $32. The interface is extremely simple - tail button turns the light off and on, head twist to switch between two modes. The two modes are very widely separated.
  • Fenix E25, $37. Just a single button mounted in the traditional location, on the side of the flashlight. Tapping the button cycles through three modes, hold to turn off. Not quite as many lumens as the BA20, but the beam is more concentrated and throws further.

And if he does not already have good rechargable batteries, spend the remaining $15 on a set of Eneloops and a charger. You need these to run the high mode effectively.

^* If you are curious, I got him a Fenix E21. The E25 did not exist yet. Otherwise the E21 is very similar to the BA20, but with the two modes closer together. The low mode on the E21 is still really bright, so much that he only uses the high mode for impressing people.

Not sure if not having USB is a 100% deal breaker, but this is a 4 pack of the highly praised Eneloops and a charger for $18, so you're getting twice as many (vastly superior) batteries for $3 more than the ones you linked. Heck, you can probably get USB chargers for standard rechargeables for all I know, I've never looked for one.

EDIT: Found a better link.

I had the same problem with my play and charge kit.
I gave up trying to fix it and bought Sanyo eneloops AA's. They last real long, have a great shelf life, and keep their capacity over many recharges.

Have you tried buying a new rechargeable battery? Amazon sells a 4 pack with a charger for 25 bucks that I invested in and gave my mouse a new breath of life.

It turned out the original battery my g700 came with was getting too hot in the mouse and burned itself out.

Welcome to /r/flashlight!

theres a bit of info here about battery types, i'm still learning a lot myself. These eneloops are raved about by most of the flashlight community i've seen.

this summarises the pros and cons of battery types too.. including their recharge life

u/Kryz167 · 3 pointsr/flashlight

I just got a zebralight a few weeks ago. I got the neutral white headlamp. It's pretty fantastic.

I like that I can use it as a headlamp, but really liked that I can clip it on my collar when I'm doing something and it's pointing forward.

I leaned toward the AA version instead of CR123 just because I'd like to only worry about keeping one type of battery on hand. Plus I had these which work great.

u/daegon · 3 pointsr/AskPhotography

Nikon's 35 1.8 is exceptional. It's small, sharp, built well, has fast &, silent AF and is under 250. Go, buy one, buy used if you ever plan to resell it. For portrait closeups, the 85 1.8 (AF-D or G, depending on budget) or 55-200 VR should be at the top of your list.

Your kit lens is an 18-55, though an 11-55 would be a great product, let's get on that.

A used SB600 has the same features for half the price. Buy rechargeable AAs and a GOOD CHARGER (avoid the fast chargers, they kill batteries).

u/ChouPigu · 3 pointsr/xboxone

I can't believe that in a 2 hour old thread about batteries, there's only a single mention of Eneloops. You are slipping, Reddit!

I wish the other system let me use Eneloops.

Edit: The last batteries you will ever buy for your controllers. I guarantee!

If you decide on the Sunwayman, I would recommend ordering it from Fasttech. They have to conform to MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) pricing on their website, but if you create a ticket with them and ask for the "real" price, they will credit you the difference back to your Paypal account after you purchase the light. Before they were forced to institute MAP pricing, I believe this light went for about $50 shipped. It's a little extra work, but for $20 to $30 of savings, it is well worth the effort.

https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004131/1374600-sunwayman-d40a-cree-xm-l2-4-mode-980-lumen-compact

If you decide to go with the EA4, I would recommend buying it from EDC+ or Illumination Supply. Illumination Supply had a custom run of these lights made with XM-L2 (2nd generation) emitters, which are about 20% brighter at no cost of power or heat over the standard emitter offered in the EA4, which is the XM-L U2 (1st generation). I would go for the neutral white from EDC+ because it offers a more natural light color instead of that HID/hyperwhite tint of cool white lights. It renders colors a little more naturally, which may be useful if you are using this light to in a work environment.

Neutral White - http://edcplus.com/nitecore-ea4u2-4aa-xml2-950-lumens-neutral-white-p-155.html

Cool White - https://illuminationsupply.com/explorer-series-eaec-c-28_53_73/nitecore-ea4-l2-xml2-p-324.html

Also, whatever flashlight you end up getting, I highly recommend investing in some low self discharge NiMH AA batteries, the most popular of which being Sanyo Eneloop AA's. These lights pull a lot of current in their highest modes and NiMH AA batteries are able to supply more current than alkaline batteries. Besides never having to buy batteries again, they also do not run the risk of leaking like alkaline batteries have a tendency to do. This means you wont have to throw out your fancy new light if you have a battery failure. I have Sanyo Eneloop AA's & AAA's and Tenergy Centura C & D cells. I won't buy alkaline batteries anymore because the LSD NiMH batteries retain 75% of their charge even after sitting in a drawer for 3 years, can supply more power, and can be recharged over 1000-1500 times. You pay a little more up front, but reap the benefits for the next 10-15 years.

I have a couple of YN-560 II's and they've worked great for over a year. I use them with Cactus V5 triggers and they've performed well.

If you're going to do any shooting with a flash on the camera, you'll want to get a YN-468 such as this one because it has TTL metering while the 560 does not. If you're wanting two lights, I suggest one 560 and one 468 just so you have TTL capability if you ever need it.

Eneloop batteries are a great addition with the flashes. They last forever.

  • An inflatable tub shaped like a duck! It's adorable, and Monkey likes to play in it when it's not bath time, which is pretty cute.
Vintage vinyl squeaky books that are fun to touch.
Summer's muslin swaddling blankets; they rule.

  • A decent portable swing; we take it w/us to friends' houses for dinner, and let her sack out while we eat. It's awesome. When one of the straps broke, their customer service had a free replacement and a fluffy toy in the mail to us the same day. They were actually a joy to deal with, and I will look for their products in the future.

  • Rechargeable batteries. Best. Invention. Ever. We bought a few sets of the spacers so that buying fresh C/D batteries is a thing of the past. We've gifted them out too.

And of course, we have some cute toys for her, but she seems to prefer a single disposable plastic spoon, my rubber watch, a length of knotted cord and our hands/feet. Of the cute toys, the Infantino Stacker is the clear winner for versatility. The base makes a whistling sound, and the rings all have different textures and make different sounds. We combined that with a set of rings and can clip them to her carrier, her car seat, her jumper, her crib, etc., awesome product.

There's no one "way" to have an orgasm. It's all about finding out what works for you and enjoying yourself.

> I know I feel like i'm close to cumming when I'm on top but when I look at him to see if he enjoys it, It seems like it's kind of "meh" to him so we do a different position.

This sounds like a source of problems. If you are trying to get off, then getting wrapped up in his enjoyment is going to stress you out. Orgasms can be very psychological - especially if you're already stressed out because you're not having them.

It sounds like you could really use some devoted attention from someone other than yourself. Does he go down on you regularly? Have you ever thought about using toys?

Some thoughts:

  • Sit down some time in a non-sexual context and talk about your sex life. Not getting an orgasm out of 4 years sounds pretty extreme to me! If you never talk about it, you can't expect it to get better.
  • Get a vibrator. Seriously. If this will be the first toy you've had then I'd point to a vibrating dildo, since they can be used internally and externally. One purchase and you've got plenty of options to explore!
  • Does he go down on you regularly? Ask for it. If he's not very interested, offer to make it fun - mutual oral sex can be great foreplay as well as a good way to find out more about how your partner's sexy bits (and your own) like to be handled.
  • What things turn you on the most? You mentioned rubbing your clit, but there's a whole lot of stuff aside from direct genital stimulation that can also be REALLY hot. Do you have any fantasies? If you don't, that's OK too. Instead, think about things that interest you - fuzzy handcuffs, costumes, sexy games, rope, toys, role playing, the list is literally endless. Think of something fun and try it! Just always be safe and keep a good sense of humor - if it didn't work or was awkward, then just laugh it off together and try something different next time.

PS - for vibrating toys, rechargeable batteries will save you a TON of cash! I recommend Eneloop.

This is the exact setup that I use for some of my videos. It's not as bright as continuous CFL bulbs, but it's a great portable solution.

For 3 point lighting I use 18 rechargeable eneloop AA batteries (6 for each light).

u/andthebatman · 2 pointsr/flashlight

You'd only run ni-mh in that light. Li-ion is not supported in it. $14 on Amazon will get you really good batteries plus a charger. You may want to invest in this from a monetary standpoint. It depends how often you use the light.

Now, about the alkaleaks. I've not seen any parascientific work on the internet about what causes them to leak. I personally suspect, and there is a little info here and there to support this, that it's due to keeping a load on dead batteries (less than about 0.8 V) for a long duration until they're really low, such as 0.1V. (That's an example of a very low alkaline, not when it would start leaking.)

Go to your local store where the have batteries on the shelf. Are any of those name-brand ones leaking? No.
Now, bookchaser posted here that he finds leaked batteries often. Those are installed in devices, which could have the aforementioned load.

I don't think they leak just sitting there. (Disregarding self-discharge.) You're going to change out the batteries in your light because they're dead long before they leak. That is, so long as you operate the light once a week or so. Could be once a month, or more, to stay safe, it's hard to say.

I recently received $400 in Amazon gift cards from my Chase Freedom rewards card. These are some of the practical items I've bought for myself:

Fenix E21 Flashlight (2xAA, 150/48 Lumens) - $32.45

Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife - $29.99

Spyderco Resilience Black G-10 PlainEdge Knife - $39.14

Those 3 items add up to $101.58 but if you buy a flashlight you'll also need to buy batteries. I also bought a Fenix TK35 High Performance 820 Lumen Flashlight after being impressed by the Fenix E21.

Besides those items I bought a 1000mA car charger for my phone to replace a cheap 500mA charger, two 4GB SD (not SDHC) cards for use in my '07 Audi, a 5x7 Maxpedition Fatty Pocket Organizer, and a Philips Sonicare HX9332/05 DiamondClean Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

u/AnAppleSnail · 2 pointsr/flashlight

I don't think you'll find much advantage beyond a moment of surprise in a confrontation. The flashlight is far more effective a deterrent in that it can show you are alert.

I suggest this http://www.shiningbeam.com/servlet/the-196/ShiningBeam-Spark--Cree/Detail

along with a 4-pack of Eneloop AAs with a charger.

I'd get these. They can be recharged 1500 times and they come with a charger. The Eneloop XX have a higher capacity but they have a shorter lifespan (500 charges).

The Nitecore EA2 is a nice light. I own one and really like how it has two side buttons, one for power, the other for modes. A lot of brightnesses and versatility. You'll need to buy some rechargeable batteries for it if you wanted to go that route. Review below.

Apparently the LD22 has longer run time and is slightly brighter, but has a more floody beam. Seems that the LD22 replaced the LD20. They are both look great but I'd go with the LD22 if the price was close.

For rechargeable AA's Sanyo Eneloops are the best hands down, best run time and best at supplying high current.

I would suggest investing in some Enloop batteries as opposed to the Play & Charge. I went through some many P&C kits for 360, they sucked so bad. And this option is cheaper too.

I've been really enjoying my G700 so far.

Wireless response is great, I have no issues with latency. Feels exactly the same when in wired or wireless mode, which feels the same as my G500. I do plug the receiver into my keyboard, but I didn't have any issues when I plugged it directly into the tower under my desk.

The battery doesn't have the longest life, but it's adequate; since it uses a standard 3rd party battery, it's pretty affordable to have extras on hand. I prefer this over some alternatives, which use an expensive, proprietary battery.

Since you can go into wired mode, the battery life isn't a huge concern to me. It switches flawlessly between the two modes. (Unlike the Mamba 2012 I tried, the where receiver would crash on me an require a reboot to reconnect.) The cable is pretty thick, with really nicely molded connections. It's easy to [purposefully] disconnect the cable, also unlike the Mamba.

Ergonomics are great, easily the most comfortable mouse I've ever used. It is on the heavy side, which I expected. It's easy to distinguish between all the buttons, and even in games like TF2 i appreciate the sheer number of buttons.

u/Matchstix · 2 pointsr/flashlight

I finally bought some Enloop rechargeables. They're a nice entry into the rechargeable world, and just as safe as regular batteries. They come in a whole bunch of different configurations on Amazon. The standard charger is OK, but this charger is where it's at.

I have the MX-5500 and some rechargable batteries. I have to charge the keyboard batteries maybe once every few months and I get a nice little warning from Logitech's setpoint well in advance of them actually dying so I normally will just wait until the end of the day/weekend and then charge them over night/over the weekend. I wish the mouse had the same removable batteries and I'd keep a few on hand since every few months it will die in the middle of the day because I forgot to charge it the night after closing/ignoring the low battery warning.

  1. I just use Eneloop rechargeable AA batteries. You have to take the batteries out and place them in the charger though :/ so no docking and fancy stuff. I don't use the sleeves on the remotes. I think they're ugly.

u/IndigoMoss · 1 pointr/pcgaming

Well I have a solution for you. Due to the way I've used my PC for the past 7 years, I absolutely needed a wireless mouse (HTPC setup). I started off with the G7, which had the hot-swappable battery setup. Unfortunately, it had a lot of the other issues. Moved on to the Razer Mamba, what an inconvenient piece of shit that was. Now I have the Logitech G700.

The Logitech G700 uses a standard microUSB charger, so the same charger that will charge your phone will charge the mouse. On top of that, it uses a standard AA Enloop 2500 MaH battery, so you can buy extra ones and charge them and swap them out on the fly.

Here's my suggestion:

First, 10440? or 14500? 10440 is AAA size Lithium, 14500 is AA size.

Also, for both AAA and AA you can run Eneloops in almost any AA/AAA light to save replacing batteries.

Nothing in a AA/AAA size is really going to be "throwy" in that form factor.

The ThruNite Archer 2A would have a throw of ~100 meters, which is WAY bigger than you'd need for a theater, and you can buy some Eneloops and a charger for less than the Coast.

If you want the smaller form factor, the ThruNite Ti4(or its Titanium Cousin) will have about ~54 meters of throw (which would be enough) in a slimmer package and again leave room for a charger and batteries.

u/wizpig64 · -1 pointsr/gamernews

Everyone should be using rechargeable batteries for everything at this point.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RP2VNI/

They're more economical than the microsoft kits, you can charge another set while you play, and the batteries work for other stuff too. IMO these are the best solution, so I applaud microsoft for leaving the option open. Still not buying an xbox one though :P
