Amazon sells an Ergotron arm that's branded as AmazonBasics Premium Single Monitor Stand. It's 100$, but is half the price of the Ergotron branded one.

And your sketch made me giggle, haha!

Edit: Added links to the Amazon & Ergotron models. If you look at the Amazon product in black, one of their images shows what's included in the box. If you view this image and look at the manual, at the top left is the Ergotron logo. I used to have two of these Erogtron branded arms from 2005-2017. They are AWESOME though spendy--the Amazon branded one is a great deal. Great articulation/adjustment options. I have junky monitor arms in my office and they work as far as holding your monitor, but you can't adjust on-the-fly, they require tools to tighten/loosen bolts and feel flimsy.

Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm

I have a basic model from Ergotron. It's easy to adjust, solidly built, and hasn't given me any problems. I haven't checked out the other options in a few years, so there could easily be something better out there by now.

Be careful with the ones around $40 though. Most of them don't look like they are fully adjustable. You will probably want one that can tilt up and down, as well as left and right. I'm there are some good ones there, but make sure you know what you're getting.

I've also used a heavy duty Humanscale for a really heavy iMac for work. It was about 3 times more expensive, and I didn't like it nearly as much as the cheaper ergotron. Steer clear.

Looks great. As a cheaper and more flexible alternative, you can purchase two of the single mounts: http://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=pd_cp_e_0

u/NitroTwiek · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Ergotron LX. Probably the best purchase of the entire setup.

u/living_in_the_future · 3 pointsr/AskBattlestations

Hmm, for $150 I would consider a couple of things.

Perhaps an articulating mount such as the ergotrong: http://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC

It clears up desk space and gives your monitor a really cool look as if it is floating. You can easily switch between portrait and landscape and landscape as well. I know some people would immediately dismiss spending so much on a mount, but once you use one you'll see that they are worth their weight in gold.

Another option would be new speakers. Something like these M-audio speakers would be light years ahead of those stock dells: http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-Studiophile-Powered-Monitor-Speakers/dp/B0051WAM64/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1341771746&sr=1-1&keywords=swan+m10

They would be visually much more impressive than the Dells while being much better for music a gaming as well.

I agree with urkiburki, cable management is a great place to start.

u/campeachy · 3 pointsr/battlestations

> 125$ on newegg

Cheaper on Amazon atm. Ninja edit: $113.

u/AustinScript · 3 pointsr/battlestations

I'll once again plug my favorite monitor arm. It is expensive but I am not sure anything on the market matches it for the range of motion etc.

Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm - I have three of them, each with a 27' monitor attached. 27' is the limit and isn't officially supported. Be sure to check the weight :)

http://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=sr_1_2?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1393800678&sr=1-2&keywords=ergotron

u/Jowadowik · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This option is pretty pricey, but since you didn't list a budget, this is (in my opinion) the bar-none best desk money can buy. I have one and almost one year later I'm still freaking in love with the thing. It's built to last and I don't see myself ever getting rid of it (unless I move someplace where it doesn't fit, but then again, I probably wouldn't move to a place where it wouldn't fit :) )

UpLift Standing Desk: http://www.upliftdesk.com/stand-up-desk-with-bamboo-top/

A few of the nice points:

  • Standing desk, so fully height-adjustable
  • Comes in a variety of sizes up to 80"x30" with many different options (their other models come in different woods too)
  • Vast, unobstructed desk space with plenty of room in the corners for accessories & lamp
  • Desk legs are out-of-the-way (to the side) so there is nothing blocking your legs in or cramping your sitting/motion. Plenty of room for PC, paper shredder, subwoofer, trash can, etc. underneath without sacrificing leg space
  • Desk thickness is perfect for monitor arms and microphone arms (and I HIGHLY recommend arms for your monitors, you don't realize how much desk space you get back until you own them!!)
  • Built to be extremely solid and sturdy. No plastic anywhere and (as you'll find when you assemble it) the designers have gone a bit overboard on making sure the connections are rigid and plentiful.
  • The motors are quiet, quick, and powerful
  • Cable management on the underside of the desk via Cable Clips keeps everything sleek, clean, and beautiful
  • Screw one of these babies into the desk underneath and towards the back to easily power all of your accessories (they also have offerings with more plugs, if you really need that)
  • The underside is also perfect for a USB Hub or other accessory - just Command Strip it or screw it into the bottom, slightly recessed from the front lip of the desk to have a super slick, subtle, and clean IO panel for your phone, USB sticks, etc. Consider a second USB hub hidden elsewhere underneath for peripherals that are always plugged in (keyboard, mouse, microphone, headphone amp). This is great because only one cable needs to actually go to your PC, and new peripherals are really easy to add.
  • The power strip + USB hub strat means that you end up with only a small handful of cables actually coming way from the desk, which you can feed through cable braid for a super-sharp and clean/tidy look

If anyone is interested in buying one, don't bother getting their optional "cable management" kit, the recommendations above work way better in practice.
u/Teutron · 2 pointsr/wacom

I use a 24HD at work, and I didn't know you could detach it from it's mount to begin with?

But for my home setup, I use an Ergotron Robotic Arm.
Keep in mind, I'm using that for a 22HD, and I'd wager the 24HD is too heavy for the arm, but I haven't looked into that before.
Might be a solution for you though!

u/Marty_McFuckinFly · 2 pointsr/battlestations

These look like the monitor mounts he's using, but save your money and get this one instead. It's the same thing just a different color and rebranded at 40$ cheaper. Although, it's only a 1 year warranty vs. 5 year for the Ergotron branded mount.

u/R1cket · 2 pointsr/AskBattlestations

I just bought the Ergotron LX arm yesterday, it shipped today and says it'll arrive on Monday (yay Amazon Prime). I heard about it from Jeff Atwood in his post on Coding Horror, and I think highly of him and the things he's done, so that was a big influence on my decision.

I expect my U2711 will also arrive Monday; I haven't gotten the shipping notification yet, but I also ordered it last night. I can come back here and let you know how it goes if you haven't yet made your purchase before then (if I forget, remind me by replying to this or with a PM).

But at $125 (USD), this arm had BETTER hold my monitor well or else it's going straight back to Amazon. It's much more than I expected to spend for a monitor arm, and I did see the far cheaper arms out there, but I'm counting on it being the best. It has excellent reviews, so I expect so.

Edit: I am very happy with the Ergotron, it holds up my monitor without problems (it has an adjustable tension, so I just tightened it until the arm no longer sank on its own). I can very easily raise, lower, and move it around. It clamped to the edge of the desk. The materials are thick and have some weight to them so I'm confident it's not going to break or fall apart. Overall I'd recommend it, if it's in your budget!

u/bananamunchies · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I bought this and it is amazing. I mounted it by drilling a small hole through my desk and it is rock solid. It's pricey, but I will be buying another soon from my satisfaction with the first.

u/Atraeas · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

I'm in the market for monitor arms. This seems like an amazing deal compared to something like this Ergotron LX Monitor Arm. Am I missing some reason why this arm is so much cheaper?

u/rougetoxicity · 2 pointsr/DIY

Way cool project!

I was thinking that if you still have money to spend of this project, some sort of monitor mounting system might help the overall aesthetic, then you wouldn't have to worry about the screw heads messing up the levelness of the monitors slightly either, and you could remove the bases.

Something like this x2 might work and look very nice. I found a pair of something similar called a space arm on ebay for under 80$ for a pair.

The make ones like this too, but i dont think those look quite as nifty, and wouldnt work as well for 27"ers.

PS: i love that you decided to tie some wood in with the legs and speakers, makes it look more inviting and less monolithic.

u/lowlifeking · 2 pointsr/wacom

I've used an Amazon brand arm with some success. It served me pretty well, though I felt the monitor might have been too heavy for it at times. It required a lot of tightening to keep it from drooping. Great arm though overall!

Recently I switched to the much more expensive Ergotron DX which has been overall much sturdier for me.

Both have about the same range of motion and articulation.

As for desks, I currently use an IKEA Bekant (motorized sit/stand version) which is not small. However they sell it in a smaller size. The legs are quite sturdy and the tabletop I use is pretty thick so I have no safety concerns there as far as weight goes. You can always get a custom top if you want to go thicker. On the site it's not rated very highly and I think perhaps there were flaws in the electrical components early on. In my personal experience, I've had the desk for the last six months and experienced no difficulties yet. I love it so far.

Good luck on your hunt.

u/rcioffe · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Full mobility, or just tilt/rotate?

I like these guys for full mobility: https://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC You can rotate, move up/down, left/right, closer/farther, pivot, etc. There's dual monitor stands as well.

VIVO makes some nice/cheap stands as well, but they're stationary. You can move the screen closer, tilt, and rotate the screen, but height adjustment involves an allen wrench and getting up. https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Articulating-STAND-V001/dp/B00B21TLQU

u/Waleslol · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

Ergotron LX, I believe they offer a grommet mount so you'd need a hole drilled in your desk, (your 2nd factor requirement). If the height isn't enough you can purchase an Extension Arm.

u/e60deluxe · 2 pointsr/buildapc

There is a desk clamp version

https://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC

But I worry whether it would get high enough to sit over another monitor, but it depends on the depth of the desk. On a shallow desk it may work.

Do you need to use both screens at once ? Maybe one could just be folded up out of the way at a time instead of having one above the other ?

u/anethma · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

I used the Ergotron LX.

I believe the Amazon Basics one though is just a reskin and a bit cheaper.

u/itsleemcguire · 2 pointsr/wacom

The same youtuber linked in the comments (LawrencecanDraw) just mentioned in his own youtube comments that he can shortly release some information on hooking it up to a vesa stand and then to the fantastic Ergotron arm https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ergotron-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC

Im patiently waiting for him to confirm theres a solution before I start buying everything to get ready for the Dell coming out! Hope it comes to the UK fast!

u/darkmooninc · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I have a very large desk and I'm running three 24' monitors on three separate Ergotron stands . Works awesome and I can position them all over. I guess you can also just get the dual stand . But either way, I say Ergotron all the way.

u/illucere · 2 pointsr/wacom

Hey!
As long as you have the Cintiq 24, and a VESA compatible monitor arm system, the adapter plate includes everything you will need to attach the two together.

EDIT: Anything with a VESA 100x100 pattern would work. Theoretically I could make it for VESA 75x75, but that's pretty uncommon.

Most people are using the Ergotron LX or something similar:
https://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC/
I'm personally using the AmazonBasics version. It's actually made by Ergotron in the same factory. The labels on the box openly say so, and its 40 bucks less.

I typically have worked with Cintiq's. Im a huge fan of an arm+screen mount...this is my intended solution for my desk. http://amzn.to/2gSV10L + http://amzn.to/2fRMlXJ
.

For on the go the above wont work so I am looking at this: Artisul Stand $60

It seems compact, should fit in any bag a MSP fits into.

u/parag0n · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I got mine from here

These are actually Samsung PLS panel in a cheaper case. The only noticeable difference is the aforementioned backlight bleed. Mine has no dead pixels but the seller guarantees 3 or less.

Also the stand was really wobbly so I ended up buying one of these and using a dremel to cut the stand mount from the monitor but that's really not necessary.

Edit: pics. Please excuse the low quality/messy shrine. The QNIX is on the right. More Info

Ooh I can help!

I have an Acer X34a and bought one of these:

Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rkz9AbTZMK64J

I'd highly recommend it. It is around £110 but it is extremely well built, sturdy and offers a few mounting options.

It comes with a clamp to attach to a desk and can also be bolted into the desk. I ended up drilling a hole through my desk and bolting it in.

Here it is + mounting

I used to use phone books, but these days I use monitor arms. So much adjustability, and you can move them right where you want them.

I have an industrial-strength setup at work, but at home I just use this: http://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC. I actually have the previous version of the LX, which has a slightly longer pole than the current version.

u/Kcwilcox · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

RAoA is an amazing place where everyone steps forward and does their part to help in good times and bad, tragedy or no tragedy.

If I had an extra $150, I would buy this desk mount thingy for my tablet so that it would be easier to move around and keep out of the way when I'm not using it!

I would be willing to try Garlic and Tofu Milkshake on a bed of Tepid Kielbasa Stroganoff at least once before completely dismissing it!

u/Benno0 · 1 pointr/battlestations

I'd definitely recommend shelling out about 40$ extra to get an Ergotron LX over that one. The price difference isn't huge and the LX is both sturdier and easier to adjust due to the spring loaded height adjustment vs locking on the Neo-Flex.

u/rocketmonkeys · 1 pointr/buildapc

I second the Ikea Galant - it's awesome. You can get a big flat top, a few colors, the legs are very sturdy, and most importantly - the height is very adjustable. That makes a huge difference.

For dual monitors, I use these:
http://www.amazon.com/HP-BT861AT-Single-Monitor-Arm/dp/B00455GH58

That's the cheaper HP rebrand of this:
http://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC

One of the best out there. You can just move the monitor where you want, it'll stay. Holds up well w/ bigger monitors.

If you want to save money, try one of these:
http://www.monoprice.com/Category?fq=SubCategoryId:1082808&c_id=108&cp_id=10828&fq=MultiMainCategoryId:108&fq=MultiCategoryId:10828&searchtype=subcategoryid

I have 2 differently-sized monitors so I want two arms. If you have two of the same, you may want the 2-in-1 stand (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082808&p_id=5560&seq=1&format=2), though you get less flexibility w/ placement there.

There's also wall-mount versions of all this.

I have a 27 & 24 dual monitor setup on an ikea vika desk (the clear one they don't sell anymore). It holds up well w/ the deskmount LCD stands.

u/thekey147 · 1 pointr/gamegrumps

I've been told this one here works well.

And yeah, a surface tablet is far more convenient, I just enjoy having a second monitor, and having a 1:1 translation when drawing.

u/kanstapminaw · 1 pointr/DIY

Hi. This sounds like such a fun project to do! I also agree with the mount idea.

I've used this for my monitors before I switched to these. Both are great quality, easy to install, and deliver what they advertise.

The benefit of these articulating types is that they can also tilt, swivel, and rotate. I don't know how your vanity is set up, but tilting might be something to consider if you ever both sit and stand. The swivel might be helpful if you're trying to catch the best natural light from a particular window.

The former is definitely more affordable and a simple enough solution. It's very sturdy when mounted onto a stud, or be sure to use anchors. Also, if you plan to use this type of mount, just be aware that when it's pushed back, the center of the mirror (if you affix it to the mount at the exact center) will be offset about a couple inches to the side from where the mount is attached to the wall. I hope I explained that well enough. There should be more info on this in the reviews with photos to help explain what I mean, or feel free to ask me for more details.

The latter (or something like it) would be a great option if you didn't want to attach anything to the wall at all as it can clamp onto an edge of your vanity, if possible. This might be a good route if your vanity is floating away from a wall. This one is much more costly, though, and I would personally rather spend that money on the makeup goodies lol. I'm only mentioning this option as it's the only other mount I've had experience with and it's a great mount, but there could be similar ones out there at a lower price point with the same features by now (I bought it a couple years ago).

Safety tips: I don't know if you have plans for how to affix the mirror to the mount, or what kind of mirror you want to use, but in regards to safety (if it is a simple bare mirror) I would recommend to create/attach/build some kind of backing/frame for the back and around the edges of the mirror so that it's more sturdy when you move it around. Also, I would recommend sticking bumpers onto the parts of the mount that come into contact with the back of the mirror when the mirror is pushed back towards the mount.

I hope this was helpful. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

u/jnaykid · 1 pointr/battlestations

Ummm, I thiink maybe? heheh Its the one right before they moved the finger strips to the backside which I wish mine had. It's about 3 years old at this point. These things are durable cuz i beat the hell out of it and it still works as good as always.

Here is the arm I use:
http://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376789251&sr=8-1&keywords=ergotron

It definitely gets a full range of movement. I am a storyboard artist and character designer by trade so I spend ALOT of time on this thing and it definitely helps with the ergonomics and it can sit in my lap pr raise up high like a monitor and spin easily a full 360 degrees.

You definitely should get the LX mount though in the link I posted because the mount has that black Rod the arms are attached to. The unique thing with this is you can remove one of the washer pieces on top of the black part which allows the arm to slide to the bottom so you can lower the cintiq into you lap even. The other ergotron arms are connected differently and dont lower enough for me personally.

Make sure you check the weight capacity with what you want to mount on it too. The newer HD Cintiq's are too heavy for this arm.

u/garysucks1 · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

As for my experience, ghosting is definitely more evident than the 2 QNIX panels above, but it doesn't affect gameplay or even movies to a really noticeable degree (at least for me).

Flickering is a noticeable problem in menu / load screens for pretty much every game. I've experienced it in everything from Witcher 3 to Golf With Your Friends...lol. But I've yet to experience it noticeably during gameplay, although that may be due to my GTX 1080 rarely ever dipping below that framerate threshold for the problem to manifest.

As for things like color banding, it's noticeable in the gray shades but doesn't really bother me.

Before it's asked, I have it mounted on an Ergotron LX:
https://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491798786&sr=8-1&keywords=ergotron+lx

Ergotron LX @ Amazon

Ergotron LX Dual Stacking @ Amazon

I've used the Ergotron brand of these for 10 years now. They have extensions you can buy, but also notebook holders you can put on at the end. AmazonBasics have the same exact looking design models for 3/4 the price... I've never used but they look so similar I assume they are EOM.

Cheaper alternatives out there for a budget I've used include TykeSupply but they are bulkier and heavier; but made of solid metal so might have better uses in some scenario's.

I was never satisfied with many of the other overpriced options, or even their lack of design flexibility for future use cases. I've readjusted my layouts many times over the years.. which is an understatement.

u/XaosII · 1 pointr/buildapc

I dont know what you mean by pivot; pivoting means turning around a point... Well, what point, angle, and direction?

Generally, you will have the most degrees of freedom by using an arm mount. You can use an arm mount with any VESA mountable monitor. I would also suggest an IPS monitor as it has better viewing angles off to the side than a TN panel would be. You should be able to find a monitor that meets your requirements for under $300.

u/PoorlyShavedApe · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

Get two power strips and split your cords to get more room.

Get longer cables to the monitor(s). Elevate your monitor(s) on arms to clear space underneath. (Example).

Get a longer ethernet cable.

Without a picture of the desk there is not a lot else to say. there are various space saving tricks (link I have a powerstrip mounted to the side of the desk for always-on stuff and one in the center for the stuff I turn off each night) but those depend on the desk and equipment if they are even feasible.

u/mt33 · 1 pointr/macsetups

Sure. I used the tall poll Ergotron arm with the regular Ergotron arm, and the extension for the extra height of the top monitor. Edit: here's a pic – excuse the cable, but at this point in my life, I've learned to live with them :)
