Right, don't bother with an adapter and yes a PCIe 6+2 is the same as PCIe 8 pin.

The PSU you listed is an ok budget PSU but you'll want the 500W version to be safe.

They just released a newer design of this model, the EVGA B3 that I would consider to be better and it also holds a longer warranty. If you wanted one of the best ones, get the G3 model but that comes at a premium.

Edit: One last thing, measure the PSU or look up the measurements to ensure a replacement will fit.

Change the 1600x for the regular 1600 and you can save on not having to buy a cooler

Instead of a bitfenix PSU id go for an EVGA, or a Corsair/Seasonic modular.

  • First thing's first - don't buy that GTX 950 for $250. A GTX 1050 ti is newer, better, and around $140-$150 at the moment. (EDIT - Here's one GTX 1050 ti, currently $160. You have a few other options on Amazon, depending on how soon you need it to ship.)

  • You have two different cases in those screenshots. Between those two, I'd opt for the NZXT S340. I'm assuming you can get free shipping (with or without prime) on that.

    If it's in the budget:

  • EVGA 550W B3 PSU - $60 (instead of the power supply in your screenshots)

  • Western Digital 250GB SSD - $90 (in addition to the hard drive in your screenshots)

A 500-550w psu should be enough for this system.
Heres a fully modular one for 58 usd:

Thanks for your comment and input. (:

Check out THIS post over at r/sffpc where all MITX cases are compared in one render, I used this and decided to purchase the Nouvolo Steck, this was the cheaper copy of the Ghost S1, which i was not able to obtain, and couldn't justify the cost for anyway.

I would love to get theVelka 3 - that case is so tiny. But as the mini GPUs seem quite a bit more expensive and more limited, i preferred one of the smallest cases that could fit a full size GPU.

With that said, My personal preference for the best options are:

  • Dancase A4 - hard to obtain for me and probably more than i want to pay
  • Kolink Rocket - a copy of the dan case, cheaper and easily availible
  • Louqe Ghost S1 - A modular, expandable case with magnetic top and sides, again very expensive and very difficult to purchase, a bit wider than above so allows larger coolers which should result in better temps.
  • Nouvolo Steck - a copy of the Ghost S1 and its modular design, much cheaper and readily available.

To switch to these cases, you would obviously need an SFX PSU like THIS for $70

Apart from the GPU the rest of your setup is golden. Personally, i wouldn't switch CPU just yet, wait another year, you already have a good board for future upgrades. F

or the Steck and PSU, your looking at a total cost $220

Once you have the case & PSU you want, just get a new GPU to suit. Boom!

You can get this case for $10 more - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854029&cm_re=p400-_-11-854-029-_-Product

Also this 550w PSU for $5 (not in stock until the 23rd). Better than the one you have - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071XS597S/?tag=pcpapi-20

Other than that it looks good.

Without taking in account the MIR, what will be a best purchase, this Corsair TX-M 550W 80+ Bronze (US$62.98) or the EVGA - B3 550W 80+ Bronze (US$64.19)?

I suggest you upgrade your power supply soon, it is the reason your having the crash issue.

At this point it is your decision to get a decent 500 watt PSU with ketchup n mustard cables or something more modern with black cables and or modular.
