1060 6GB is probably the best bang for your (300) bucks. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IPVSLTC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_qhF-Ab1NSMRH5

What are your other parts / what games/resolution/FPS do you use?

u/hamicuia · 12 pointsr/Buttcoin

So basically $10 more than a real GTX 1060 with video output and 3 year warranty? Looks like a good deal to me. No warranty and no video output for $10 more.

edit: unless you want dual fans, then they are around $240. so $30 more for video output and warranty.

u/bloodstainer · 10 pointsr/buildapc

No, do NOT buy the third card. If you're interested in getting a single fan EVGA card, pick up this one instead

Its basically the same card, but with MUCH superior cooling. Don't save a few bucks on cheap cooling.

u/fivetwofoureight · 5 pointsr/buildapcsales

Going by this on amazon, looks like they launched around $260, rarely dipped below $230 before the big rise, and are currently bouncing around ~$290 without sales. Of course, I'm making huge generalizations and prices/values will be affected by heat sinks, fans, and reliability.

u/cosalich · 5 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

Why even spend $330 when you can save four bucks and get a factory overclocked card?

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01IPVSLTC/?tag=pcp0f-20

u/unfunnydick · 3 pointsr/nvidia

Gigabyte for the coil whine or EVGA for the House Fire. I kid, mostly.

EVGA 1060 SC version is alright.

Do not get the cheapo one (which overheats at 91C under load); avoid their ACX 3.0 cooled versions (SSC and FTW models) for now.

How mini is your ITX case? Do you really need to settle on a single fan option?

u/GhastlyFlanders · 3 pointsr/hardwareswap

That's really high for this sub, these are 260 on Amazon.

u/cf18 · 3 pointsr/buildapc

This card should easily fit:

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6163-KR/dp/B01IPVSLTC

Also make sure you have one 6 pin PCIe power plug from the power supply.

I got it for 260$ from Amazon.com Total cost was 320$ for me including taxes+shipping.

You can get the GTX 1060 in this build from Amazon or Newegg when it's in stock.
u/ckayfish · 2 pointsr/NZXT

Canadian dollars, but this is the one I'd get if if buying new, (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01IPVSLTC/) but Im actually really hoping to find a used one. 1070s are too pricey to be practical IMO. I might use an 1030 until the 1100s are released to see of the price of the current ones come down.

The real practical side on me is trying to talk me into a 2400G APU since I'm not a serious gamer.

u/Agastopia · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Yeah that looks smaller, put it in pcpartpicker and if there's no compatibility warnings then you're fine. It wasn't even a major issue, just a bit of a pain

u/VariXx · 2 pointsr/KillYourConsole

By all means build it if that's something you think you'd enjoy but there's no shame in buying either. I've always built but I don't look down on anyone that uses a prebuilt machine. I might give them shit at lans but it's never anything serious.

Right now is a great time for buying GPUs without breaking your wallet. You can pick up a 1060 for pretty cheap which will probably run everything you'd want to play no problem. There's also a 3GB version if you're on a budget but for the price difference I'd go 6GB if possible.

I'm just talking in general here and didn't check all of the specs on the two desktops you listed. I'd assume those desktops have a PCI-E slot and the power to run that card but don't take my word for it. Make sure to research before buying obviously.

u/SBoots · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

https://www.amazon.ca/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6163-KR/dp/B01IPVSLTC/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482773752&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+1060+6gb+evga

I'm looking to upgrade my GTX 660 Ti to this card. I have Amazon Prime so I save a few bucks shipping. I was hesitant going from a full size card to this mini but I can't seem to find anything bad about this card after doing a bit of research. Thoughts? Is that an ok price?

u/pealatere · 2 pointsr/buildapc

There is a slightly cheaper GPU on Amazon if you're looking to save a bit and you have prime. Also LTT has a good video on RAM speeds right here, concluding that higher ram speeds result in only a tiny performance increase.

u/Truncator · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'm considering buying a GTX 1060 in the next few days. I'm currently running an i5-2500k at 4.2 GHz with a 6950 1GB (lol).

Should I go with the 3GB or 6GB model? I'm leaning toward the 6GB. This EVGA one, specifically. When I bought my 6950 in 2011, I chose 1GB over the 2GB version and ended up regretting it, so I'd like to avoid that this time. Budget isn't a huge concern.

u/GizmoKSX · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

Not necessarily. I've had some big cards before, but there are good compact single fan cards. Consider your needs, look at the card's measurements, check PCPartPicker compatibility, or ask around. I got a Corsair Carbide 400R a few years ago, thinking I might try SLI. I never did and no longer plan to, and while it's a great case, I now wish I picked something a bit smaller. YMMV, though!

u/Haxan_K · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Amazon has a big sale atm on a 1060.

EDIT: Amazon also has the 580 $10 cheaper. either is a good choice.

u/mrpploper · 2 pointsr/Blackops4

I’d say the best bang for your buck is this:

tl;dr: is the premium price of the GTX 1060 6gb worth it over the GTX 1060 3gb?

edited for clarity

i built a pc last march on a z170 motherboard and an i5 6600k, but i recycled my video card from my previous build. it is a 2gb radeon 7870 that i bought back in april of 2013, so... pretty ready for an upgrade? the primary reason that i'm looking to upgrade is that i'm finally pulling the trigger in water cooling and i want a card that i can find a water block for. EKWB offered one for my current card but they no longer do.

i think i have decided on the GTX 1060 either in the 3gb version (currently $200) or the 6gb version (currently $260). I'd like to keep it under $250 but if i'm really going to see a big enough performance benefit with 6gb over 3gb i'll adjust the 'budget' upwards by $10.

these days i am primarily concerned with pushing multiple monitors, and i play both WoW and FFXIV. the card is still doing me pretty good, so if there's a good reason to hold off for awhile, i could just shelf the idea.

u/AwesomeShizzles · 1 pointr/Alienware

I've never seen Dell give you a samsung 960evo or pm 961 off the bat. They use lower quality Toshiba or whatever they have in stock to save money. I dont blame them either, just a fact. I've also never seen them have seasonic, corsair, or evga psu's included. And a 1060 is about $350 in the u.s.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IEKYD5U/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525834159&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=gtx+1060&dpPl=1&dpID=51ATILxFwwL&ref=plSrch

You're surly never going to find one of those in a prebuilt from dell.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q2zNcY

More than half the parts here are arguably higher quality than in most prebuilts like dell.

I originally said 1300 to 1500, this is in the price range. Also no reason to downvote me.

u/Pokex15 · 1 pointr/PCBuilds

I’m gonna go on a limb here, but maybe use a benchmarking tool to see if you could either use an amd cpu and 1070 for better results, that might work, but good choice with i5 and 1060, but, go for a more reputable brand such as EVGA for your gpu. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IPVSLTC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1527111608&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=gtx+1060+6gb&dpPl=1&dpID=51rdJo6WqmL&ref=plSrch
My two cents, and I’ve never built a pc, but I’ve gotten a couple people advising me with something along these lines.

u/Wobafett22 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm thinking of upgrading to a 1060 from a 750 ti. Is there a significant difference between the evga single fan sc and the evga ssc dual fan? I like the smaller form factor of the single fan but is there any difference besides cooling capability? And would I be better off just spending the extra 10 bucks for the dual fan?

u/Lxr200 · 1 pointr/pcgamingtechsupport

tell your friend hes crazy.. you can get a new GTX 1060 6GB for cheaper than that... https://www.amazon.com/d/Computer-Graphics-Cards/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-06G-P4-6163-KR/B01IPVSLTC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1550117098&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+1060

16GB of ram allows more things to work smoothly as long as your processor doesn't bottleneck it, it also depends on the games. every program uses memory, more programs open means more memory gets used.

I suggest downloading a program such as MSI afterburner and monitor how much CPU usage you're using, as well as Memory usage and GPU usage to give you an idea.

u/MrSupan · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Thank you for taking the time to do this for me. I really appreciate it. I am about to order the video card on the "Lower End" build you created.
Would the link below suffice for the 1060 video card? It looks a lot different than the link you provided, and seems to have only one fan. Would it be ok to get this one??

u/Matt1drew · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

I'm looking at this video card which is normally $350 but on amazon, a so called new seller has the card for $265. my obviouse suspicion is that this is some sort of scam/rip off, but on the other hand all of amazons products are covered by the A-to-Z guarantee. So should I purchase the card from that seller?

u/THISgai · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

If you go to the seller page, you see it's a new profile, aka "Just Launched", which means it's more likely to be a scam seller.

u/epiktek · 1 pointr/buildapc

Wow, thank you. I really appreciate the thorough documentation and provided links.

Strix motherboard does not list the Flare X 2400Mhz 32GB, but I'm assuming it's because it just hasn't been updated. G.Skillz (manufacturer of Flare X) lists it on their website as being Strix X370-f compatible. Also, AMD lists the 2400Mhz 32GB Flare X RAM as well.

Hmm, I'm no expert on this, and I confess I have not been following Ryzen news from day one. The reason why I settled on the 2400Mhz is because I watched this video...

https://youtu.be/U4k_ErEg-FU

The conclusion: 3200 only makes a difference if you have a 1080 ti graphics card.

I plan to get a reasonable 1060 graphics card. Probably this one...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IPVSLTC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

So because it's not 1080 ti, I don't think it'll really matter. Let me know if you beg to differ so I can cancel my order for the 2400Mhz ram.

u/Wipeout416 · 1 pointr/nvidia

I want to get a 1060 6gb, which of these 3 do you think I should get? I don't really care what it looks like, an am a complete nab when it comes to the differences. Running one 1080 monitor. u/48-Cobras · 1 pointr/buildapc

Okay, one last question (hopefully):

What's the biggest difference between these two GPU's other than price and one being 3GB and the other being 6GB?

They both have the same base clock and pretty much every other statistic. One is just 3GB and the other is 6GB, but how much of a difference is that to make the price change a whole $60-80? I'm pretty much sure of my choice in monitor, but I'm still a little on the edge with the graphics card since I'm probably going to be buying the GPU this next summer, givinge leeway to wait for both new upgrades from Nvidia and to make a better decision within this time in case my decision is proved wrong. I'm trying my best to not be stubborn on any of my choices, but I will most likely stick with Nvidia vs AMD since Nvidia seems to always be ahead of AMD and when I do my next upgrade 2-3 years from now, it'll most likely be to another GTX GPU, so that's my little bit of philosophy on that.

u/tteeoo13 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have decided I'm getting a gtx 1060 for christmas. This is my first time buying a graphics card but I don't understand what's the difference between one manufacturer and another and what changes from one card another. Example of what I mean card A card B card C card D

I know some are out of stock but I'm using them as an example. I don't have a huge budget so I'm trying to keep it under $300.

u/bleu_boy · 1 pointr/buildapc

That mobo seems great for the price, but there is one concern. According to this post, H110 mobos skimp out sound. I'm currently sporting a pair of Sennheiser M2s. Not amazing hi-fi, but I do enjoy quality in my listening experience. Would the H110 be just fine?

I'll probably stick with 1060, but your mention of single v dual fan cards really got to me. This single fan EVGA is $4 more than this dual fan Gigabyte. I'm assuming you'd choose the Gigabyte based on better cooling?

By the way, thanks for responding!

Not sure if you're talking about the fact that there is only one fan or the model of the card. When i click it it comes up with the SC version.

EVGA 1060 6GB SC

or should I grab this one right away: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01IPVSGEC/?tag=pcp0f-20

u/Gan0n · 1 pointr/buildapc

No worries. My core issue is that when I power on my PC after I've installed my new graphics card (GTX 1060) it loads to the MoBa SplashScreen (where none of the F# options work; BIOS / Reboot) and eventually just sits on the black screen. Windows does not load - nothing happens.

u/Ronny070 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm wondering if there's any significant or noteworthy differences between the following 1060 6GB GPUs. The Amazon links are only for reference purposes as I am buying them locally.

ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 1060 6GB ROG STRIX

MSI GTX 1060 6GB GAMING X

Asus Dual GTX 1060 OC 6GB

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GAMING

PNY GeForce GTX 1060 6GB XLR8

Only thing I've heard is that it's much better to have 2 fans (so I guess that would rule out the EVGA one) but aside from that I'm not sure if the price differences are worth it or not. They're all priced pretty much the same, with the exception of the MSI which is around $25 more than the rest, and the ASUS Strix being $40 more.

I haven't upgraded my GPU in a long time and I'm not sure how the new ones are performance wise. I am looking at this one. What one do you think is the best performance for the cost? Is the dual fan one better or are you planning on overclocking it? What's PNY? My case has plenty of airflow so I'm not sure if I need the dual fan version.

this 6GB 1060 has one of the highest clock speeds and lowest prices of any 6GB 1060. and it's EVGA, so if it ever fails, their amazing warranty will get you covered. also amazing reviews. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6163-KR/dp/B01IPVSLTC/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1474473454&sr=1-1&keywords=EVGA+GTX+1060

I hope people don't mind if i tack on a very related question here. From reading threads here for a few days it seems that the EVGA SC is the most highly-recommended 1060 out there and so that's what I have my eye on, but it's sold out everywhere. Does anyone with any experience in the market have any idea how quickly popular cards like this get restocked? Thanks!
Edit: oh, weird, apparently amazon has them: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6163-KR/dp/B01IPVSLTC . Could have sworn they were out of stock just yesterday.

The 1060 actually costed me 240. Its another different GPU but pcpartspicker list doesnt have it on the list for some reason but its a 1060 6gb also and I currently own a sandisk 240gb ssd but its also nowhere to be found in the site either. The entire build here I already have most of these exept older parts like mentioned in currents parts list.

Edit: my actual gpu https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IPVSLTC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0pZeAbR1NW4QC

About to purchase a GTX 1060 6GB for my build, and was going to get the EVGA SC version, but the ZOTAC AMP! version just went on sale for the same price. EVGA with 1 fan, ZOTAC with 2 fans. Any real difference between them? EVGA vs ZOTAC

Tax is included in the build. 3GB is 10% less powerful than 6GB version as it has 10% less cores.

EVGA SC Gaming 6GB is only 325 right now, grab it before it's gone: https://www.amazon.ca/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6163-KR/dp/B01IPVSLTC

Got it a bit cheaper:

To be honest, I don't remember why exactly I bought this one, but at the time I remember seeing a few attractive qualities about it: the benchmarks showed 1060s are very capable at 1080p, the superclock makes this one a bit more performant, and so does the 6GB of VRAM but it also makes it a bit better for future-proofing, and it's made by EVGA, my go-to company for GPUs. Also, I think the non-superclocked has a worse cooling system. I can tell you going with the mini was definitely not because of the case (the full-sized SSC is 10$ more expensive, so maybe that's why). And the one I picked was (and still is) the most popular 1060 on Amazon. Also, the 1050 was not enough for my needs and the 1070 was too expensive.

Here are videos (1, 2) of people who installed a GTX 1070 inside their XPSes.

And here's one thread (because there's a couple) from the Dell forums where people talk about their upgrades.

But also, if you do buy a GPU, please get it from a place which has an easy returns policy, just in case there's an incompatiblity somewhere (I haven't heard of one, but you never know).

I'm in Canada, so you should be able to get a better price than this.

I'm trying to find a good "black friday" deal on a video card as well, so let me know if you find one!

Does it make any sense to get this card https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-06G-P4-6163-KR/dp/B01IPVSLTC , presently, if i'm currently running a 960 and just bought a vive?
