If you're looking at an 8gig 1070, I'd suggest this [EVGA version.] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I60OGUK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Rl0qzb0FG679F)

Same price as the gigabyte card you're looking at, but EVGA have a great reputation for customer support.

The cards are essentially the same, so it usually comes down three things: price, appearance, or brand prefference. Unless you really care about aesthetics, go with EVGA.

You've inflated those prices by a hell of a lot: 1060 , 1070 , and the 580 . I'll agree that the 480 prices are incredibly high atm.

u/platnum20 · 2 pointsr/hardwareswap

Here is a link to the said FTW 1070 for $400 if you'd rather grab an upgrade for a bit more ($20-50, depending on best offer so far).

Amazon link if you'd prefer to grab it from there

u/pepethesnail19 · 2 pointsr/Alienware

It depends on how portable you want to be and how much money you have. I think it would be better to just keep your current laptop and purchase a graphics amplifier and gtx 1070 graphics card which comes out to $590. If you care more about portability then sell your current laptop and buy a 17" which starts at $1500. If you plan to go down this route then I recommend you get the 1070 gpu so it will maintain performance as time passes.

Looks like I could get a GTX1070 for ~$400 after tax: Link

Not sure if its worth the loss of warranty and confidence that it won't break on me over the next 2-3 years. The GTX1070 really seems like the best choice all around and I do want to future proof a bit as I will need to upgrade the rest of my components in the near future. I'd buy it right now if it was new with warranty but I'm unsure just how reliable this model is, and if that should even be a concern for me.

Any opinions?

u/chelok · 1 pointr/HardwareSwapUK

There's one new here on Amazon for £380, so £70 is too low for me.

u/MasterChiefKing · 1 pointr/TEAMEVGA

If you look at here you can see they're distributed by Amazon.ca with free shipping.

At the moment there are no coupons available for discount, EVGA for a period from launch date they haven't announced a discounted or with a coupon for their products, I have seen some dealer/distributors/resellers have been offering their own coupon (not EVGA) for the discounted price.

$15 is not expensive if the product cost much as 500CAD.

u/BruceLeeSin · 1 pointr/buildapc

Pretty good deal on the 1070 right now, on amazon.

u/BolognaPwny · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I bought one of these in 2016. Should I get another and SLI or a different card? If so, which one?

u/myusos · 1 pointr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

if you have a bit more to spend the 1070 is about 100 dollars off currently https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I60OGUK/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&linkCode=sl1&tag=tecdea0f-20&linkId=c15516f64adec0eb023d4d04e1e18cc4

make sure your board and power supply is adequate to accommodate any new parts

u/kAy- · 1 pointr/buildapc

How would this build do with gaming at 1440p@60fps? Also is there a difference with the mini 1070 and normal 1070 like this card (might be a dumb question, sorry)?

u/Gondile · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Here is the amazon link. Is this the updated version?

u/valaea2 · 1 pointr/buildapc

any Z-series mobo with good reviews should be fine, I don't have any particular recommendations there, just go with whatever brand you prefer.

Geforce 1070 8GB should be fine for your needs, I think
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-08G-P4-6276-KR/dp/B01I60OGUK/

u/Arrhythmix · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Pros:

  1. Cooler GPU for overclocking, which equates to more headroom for overclocking.
  2. Lower noise emissons.
  3. The ability to redirect heat away from the inside of the case, preventing GPU/CPU heat contamination between the two, so it could potentially lower CPU temps.

    Cons:
  4. More expansive in terms of price to next GPU up. Eg. Aircooled GTX 1070 = $460
    Liquid cooled GTX 1070 = $580
    Aircooled GTX 1080 = $600
So in short, you would want an AIO card, the amount you would spend on a AIO 1070, you're better off getting a 1080.
  5. Possibility of a leak.
  6. Pump noise can be obnxious to certain people.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, 8GB GDDR5, RGB LED, 10CM FAN, 10 Power Phases, Double BIOS, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-6276-KR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I60OGUK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_HRarzb2F1EHAX

I mean... it was used, but fulfilled by Amazon. I trust Amazon so I am okay with buying used. Typically computer parts don't lost power over time. So it should be as if it's new.

u/_twllsted_ · 1 pointr/buildapc

So I could buy any of these and get similar results?

ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Turbo Edition

MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 1070 8GB!

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming

ASUS GeForce 8GB Dual-Fan OC Edition

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Edition

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW

If theres not much of a difference should I just buy the easiest to cool, best ratings, or lowest price?

u/MellowHigh666 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I've been contemplating on buying the EVGA FTW Gaming ACX 3.0. It'd be my first NVIDIA card as I've been using AMD since my first build. Amazon has it for $439 so I'm thinking of buying that with my new RAM, just not sure when.

u/asgiantsastros · 1 pointr/buildapc

Dude, so expensive! You can get GTX 1070 for cheaper on amazon and even moreso maybe on craigslist in your area. CPU Cooler (ballpark anywhere between 50-100), motherboard (got a z170 for 135), and Corsair Power Supply (can get a good 850W for 120 I think) seem very expensive as well. Case is $159??

Though maybe these are different currencies/store prices. But pleaseeee don't pay this much or say you've already bought them (unless there's absolutely no way you can get them cheaper/order online).

u/the-chuckls · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thanks! I was considering this
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-08G-P4-6276-KR/dp/B01I60OGUK
which was about the same price as an i5 a new mobo and 16gb of ddr4

Would you recommend I stick with NVIDIA or would it be better/more affordable to go AMD?

u/kn12 · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Currently same deal on Amazon in case you have the Amazon store card and get 5% back on purchases!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I60OGUK/

Edit: rebate period ended last month so this card is 429 instead on 409 ( if you have 5% cb at Amazon however it would work out to 409 after cb )

u/QNeutrino · 1 pointr/buildapc

Everything looks fine except that 960. That's an old card, and much weaker than the newer variant the 1060. It seems like an extremely odd choice in a build this expensive. The actual 960 itself is overpriced as far current trends go, as the 1060 costs a bit less in most cases. Neither graphics card will probably be able to push 144hz particularly well. However, since you have $2300 I would suggest spending that extra $200 on a 1070 instead, like this one. It'll do great at 1080p 144hz.

u/Aarenas52 · 1 pointr/buildapc

oh yea forgot the cards:

3 really good ones here

u/nappmonster544 · 1 pointr/buildapc

The prices you listed are fine, I just wanted to spend around 1000$ on an upgrade. Also, before I posted this question I attempted to do some research on my own to see if I was capable enough to buy my own parts(unfortunately no). I was looking at the gtx graphics cards, but the problem I ran across was that I couldn't differentiate between some of the cards I looked at, for example, I don't know what the differences are between these 3 companies and their card variations. Like, what is the difference between MSI, Nvidia, Gigbyte, and the little variations like founders vs windforce etc.
