Just a heads up, this is the same price on Amazon and they are apparently restocking on the 10th. I ordered from there instead, Ebates and holiday return policy make it more appealing for me.

u/SQRTLURFACE · 7 pointsr/gpumining

I always hate hearing the argument of "power is irrelevant" or "I'm not paying for it", because at the end of the day, somebody is, and to them, the power is relevant. Its silly and wildly inefficient to be focused on the highest hashrate (1080ti/2080/2080ti) when tuning for efficiency can produce nearly the same hashrate, but with 30-40% less power consumption.

Also, there's a component factor to consider as well. By reducing power, there's more room on the PSU and subsequently the PDU to use for additional cards, allowing me to absolutely blow the hashrate out of the water per watt used. Take This Card for example. At 280 watts, you can pull something like 83 sols/s on 144,5 mining BTG/ANON etc. At 160 watts, I can get 75 sols/s out of the same card. It produces less heat, fans don't have be seat nearly as high, and comparatively, I can squeeze more hashes per PSU/PDU than just setting it at 100-110% TDP.

Its an absolute no brainer to tune for efficiency, even if energy usage is of little concern to you. Longevity should always be your largest concern, especially now, especially today when the card Revenues have dropped below $1, and that's for revenue. Today, with super cheap electricity ($0.05 actual total cost), you're lucky if you profit $.50-$.60/day/card.

Retailers in the US are doing that too.

EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 on Amazon.com: 1159 USD (1453 CAD)

EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 on Amazon.ca: 1328 CAD

Your best bet would be to camp out on EVGA's product page and use their auto-notify. Hope that you don't get hit by customs. The other option is to wait.

u/Thirikaran · 3 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

So i ended up buying this https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06Y15DWXR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 from HoverBot Canada, the package shipped although appears to be light, talked to amazon about it and i'm protected by the buyers guarantee, but since this company sells mining equipment too, i fear that these are refurbished 1080 tis.. used for mining. Is there any way i can check? Also originally the item said it was coming from BC, Canada. Now its coming from Utah.USA. Am i going to be forced to pay customs ? Will amazon refund me these customs.. so many questions :/ hope it works out

Also the non watercooled FTW3 is in stock for the same price: EVGA 1080TI FTW3 11G-P4-6696-KR

u/BiologicalTreasure · 3 pointsr/buildapc

Huh, strange. Most have 3 and 1. Well either way, here ya go ya filthy animal:
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-GDDR5X-Technology/dp/B06Y15DWXR
This, or any other EVGA one should have 3 DP (and probably Gigabyte and MSI as well), not sure why ASUS went with 2 and 2.

u/spoonbeak · 3 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

Good deal on a 1080TI, I ended up going with this one yesterday.

u/iceterrapin · 3 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

I was gonna grab one but they told me mike's wasn't available for the stepup program

Side note: Preorder from amazon for $1108 - https://www.amazon.ca/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-GDDR5X-Technology/dp/B06Y15DWXR/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519145913&sr=8-1&keywords=1080ti+ftw

u/notaneggspert · 2 pointsr/buildapc

You could look around on Camelcamelcamel.com. They track price histories. FTW3 cards been very stable.

The 480 has fluctuated more

1070's are also fluctuating a lot. 3rd party sellers are taking advantage of the demand more than Amazon so try to just look at the Amazon prices and ignore the absurd $1060 premium some idiot bought a 1070 8GB ROG STRIX OC for.

Amazon "only" charged $30 more for them at the most- not the worst premium to pay if you don't want to wait on prices to drop.

u/iHaveNoFun · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

are HDR G-Sync 1440p 1 MS 140-200 HZ monitors out yet?

what about a GTX 1080 Ti ? I saw one for Amazon for CDN$ 1,649.00 with FREE Shipping at
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/B06Y15DWXR/ref=sr_1_1_olp?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1517616200&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+1080+ti

but that is way too overpriced. i believe the normal price is 936 dollars? yikes.

u/epik · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

Strix

or

FTW3

Don't pay more than $780 pretax

u/clamchoda · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

$8 more bucks, and the FTW3 on "pre-order" over at amazon. I got one on preorder as well but it took like 3 weeks to ship. This used to go on sale for $960 + a game so often :(

PS - Amazon orders that are Temporarily out of stock allow you to pay now locked in at this price, and get it when its in stock. The down fall of this is there is it could end up being a very long time or canceled. I've personally never had one canceled though.

u/c4103 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Exactly, items that come directly from Amazon don't even have that text below them.

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-GDDR5X-Technology/dp/B06Y15DWXR/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1517939059&sr=1-2&keywords=gtx+1080+ti&dpID=515bbFEL0kL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

This is sold directly by Amazon. You can tell because firstly it's closer to the ridiculous current market prices and secondly because it has a prime logo. Granted not everything Amazon sells directly is part of prime, but nowhere does it say "Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc." You have to be super careful with any graphics cards listed at or below MSRP nowadays, and that whole listing just screams scam to me.

u/its_a_me_SPAGHETTI · 2 pointsr/buildapc

There is no noticeable difference other than the number of fans, so they are basically the same.

Here is the best one imo.

u/-Al-ex- · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

It's going for $960 on Amazon right now which appears to be a record low on 3camels.

Also you've got Amazon's extended holiday return policy and the ease of Amazon returns in general going for you if the price does later drop over BF / CM.

u/the_bloody_nine_ · 1 pointr/buildapc

Just to follow-up. With a $40 card from amazon prime, tonight I found out it does indeed seem to be the 1080 Ti. Got the system up and windows install completed w/ the $40 card, and then was able to switch over to the 1080 ti. Black horizontal flickers and wouldn't connect over display port. Then random blackouts. That, combined with the box looking like this had been opened (probably for mining as you say) means it's now being returned. Thank god for Amazon's return policy. I ordered this card instead. I hope its good. Doesn't go with the color scheme as well. But I'd rather have a functional machine than a pretty one.

u/emtneutrino · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

Just a heads up that you can buy the 1080 ti's used on amazon for 1100, and new for 1135 https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B06Y15DWXR/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

They're also selling on ebay for about 1000, sometimes less

u/doshibhai · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Is the first seller on this list too good to be true?: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/B06Y15DWXR/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

$606 for a New GTX 1080ti is ridiculous...

u/Dark_24 · 1 pointr/buildapc

> 1080ti founders

still NOT a fan (LOL get it? yea I'll be here all week) of the Cooling on the Founders Cards..

Tough spot - If you have to get something NOW and you want it to be your go to card for the next few years? The 1080ti would be more on top over the next few years over the 1080.. but the other 1080ti's are in the $950 range: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-GDDR5X-Technology/dp/B06Y15DWXR

Which is still over kill for your existing monitor..

I guess it depends on your budget?

u/amkhz · 1 pointr/buildapc

Should I buy an EVGA 1080ti FT3 right now? It's sitting in stock right now on Amazon https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B06Y15DWXR/?coliid=I1G6D7ISKKDMAD&colid=M3KMNR94TN06&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I've wanted this card for months and I know the price is outrageous but I have been saving up and I can afford it. With new cards on the horizon should I wait? I would also be upgrading my display to something 1440 or 4K to match the card.

u/Atlas26 · 1 pointr/PS4

Ha, sorry, it is. A 780TI will get you just under half of that goal of 60fps/4K . A regular 780 will get you 24 FPS @4k.

1080TIs are selling for, at minimum, $1000 used, so for two used 1080TIs for SLI, you’re lookin at $2,000 minimum, not including taxes and fees.

This is for the average person, not the lucky 1 in a billion people who snag the one that goes for MSRP on Nvidia.com every few months/weeks.

And if you want to buy new, you can do so here at the nice low price of $1,199.90! What a steal!

u/Nick-A-30 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Quick question: why is this one cheaper than this one?

u/weird_shapes · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thanks for your quick response, this helped a lot. Do you think something like [this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y15DWXR/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=27HXFHUBRGZHK&coliid=I12BO69Y5H8B8U&th=1) would be a worthy replacement?

u/AjinoMoto412 · 1 pointr/buildapc

someone tell me that this isnt real?

reviews say otherwise and the price is too good to be true. Could this be a legit seller?

EDIT: its in Canadian dollars btw

u/benbrockn · 1 pointr/buildapc

EDITED:

Save $110 by getting a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo instead of the Liquid Cooler. I saw a few youtube benchmarks (comparing the 212 Evo to the h100i) that the 212 Evo only lags behind the liquid cooler by 1*C. If you don't want to use the stock CM fan on the 212 Evo, just buy one Corsair SP120 for $13 on Amazon, and you'll still save $97. Liquid cooling is great until it leaks all over your $3000 setup Google-> h100i leaks (and other models).

....
You also wouldn't need the Thermal Compound if you buy the 212 Evo siince Cooler Master ships you some (Saves $6)

....
Also save $420 and get the EVGA GTX 1080 Ti instead of the Titan Xp. EVGA is the best brand for NVidia cards.

....
You would save a total of ~$536 and have extremely similar performance (basically unnoticeable).

u/CrispyCalamity · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thanks for the help. So I looked at the specific GPU and PSU I might get and with these in conjunction should I be able to overclock without wattage issues?

PSU: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005BE058W/?tag=pcpapi-20&pldnSite=1

GPU: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y15DWXR/?coliid=I2CH8TMUONCTOV&colid=M8WOG1RLAK0L&psc=0&ref\_=lv\_ov\_lig\_dp\_it

u/PharaohSteve · 1 pointr/pcgaming

Hmm, you bring up an good point there. I didn't realize the 1080 Ti's MSRP was so low because prices seem to fluctuate a lot on my card, it's at $1064 right now through Amazon.

My situation was a bit unique. I had bought a 1070 outside of the mining bubble and got it under MSRP at MicroCenter. Fast forward about a year and a buddy wants to build a new PC, but he's having a hard time meeting his budget.

I offered to sell him my 1070 for half the MSRP (I oc'd it often but rarely hit over 80C), I timed my upgrade moreso to hurry up and get my friend a card, but also waited for insider news so I could make sure I was within the Step-Up window from EVGA.

EDIT - lol, wrongest.

u/PSLimitation · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

a 1080 ti for 1249?!? nah get this one https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-GDDR5X-Technology/dp/B06Y15DWXR/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497709046&sr=8-1&keywords=1080+ti+ftw3
This card can easily go up to 2000Mhz
Also Amazon is the cheapest bet for all parts especially if you are a prime member.

u/enclavezax · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

I'm in Houston and have an EVGA GTX1080ti FTW3 for sale, like new in open box. (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-GDDR5X-Technology/dp/B06Y15DWXR) If you're interested feel free to make me an offer.

u/ChemicalPlantZone · 1 pointr/buildapc

I like Amazon since I have 2 day free shipping, too.

I actually just checked and it was sold by Amazon, however it's out of stock and the reviews aren't that great.

u/ElonMesk · 1 pointr/pcparts

Sounds like you're making a killer build. Not familiar with blender? What does that do? The i9 is great for multithreaded applications like photoshop or after effects.

And yes, the 2080ti is an example match up for that card. I'd definitely recommend the EVGA FTW3. It's not cheap but it's the best silicon, with the best cooler, with a high boost clock, and with the best customer service which is something that is important for such an expensive component. Sometimes they do go on sale for like $60 off.

That monitor is an excellent pick for that card. There is also the LG ultragear ultrawide 144hz monitor but it's had quality issues so no longer recommended. Or you could go full ultrawide masterrace and go with the CRG9. It's popular on /r/ultrawidemasterrace that's for sure.

u/Kikkomann · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Yeah, that is what I quoted. Maybe it is a different code then.

Btw, is this video card the same with this one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y15DWXR/ref=psdc_284822_t2_B06XY25VTC

u/animalsciences · 1 pointr/buildapc

You could basically get whatever you want. You could go with a regular GTX 1080 or a beefed up version. If you don't mind dropping the dough you could stretch the longevity of the build with the beefy card. Either way anything in the 1080 line would do.

u/TheTeamspeakRoast · 0 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I am certainly no expert on these cards, But (if we're talking USD) that doesn't look like a very big discount, thats only $40 off.

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-GDDR5X-Technology/dp/B06Y15DWXR/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498228509&sr=8-1&keywords=1080Ti+FTW3

Yes the crazy price tag of $1300 obviously ruins the point, but there is definitely still new ones
