Reddit mentions of Fountain

I have two friends who have written books, one self-published, and one which won a novella competition:

Fountain

The first is a sort of mashup of Neal Stephenson-style science writing, and urban fantasy. It has discussions about rationality, religion, and the scientific method... but also has demons and warlocks. Its pretty cool.

The second is an absurdist comedy about a man attempting to purchase some disreputable photographs. A broken fountain overflows, and the stream goes into the photograph shop. The man follows the stream into the basement, and finds an underground lake. Things progress from there. I would compare it to Murakami; it is perhaps more magical realism than fantasy.
