Posting on behalf of a female friend who is looking for a nice pair of leather boots.

Price range ~$200-250USD. Second hand is perfectly acceptable, so a more common brand/style (to increase chances of finding a second hand pair for sale) which would be outside of this price range for retail would be fine, too.
(I may also be able to convince her to increase her budget for a particularly nice pair).

  • They must be lace-up.
  • They must not have a zipper.
  • The taller the shaft of the boot the better, but it's not a strict requirement that they be taller than an ankle boot.
  • She has mentioned liking quite a few pairs with a thick/wide heel with some height to it.
  • A goodyear welt is a nice bonus but not a strict requirement.
  • Quality should be appropriate for the price.

She says these look great but it'd be nice if they weren't $400USD and we're unsure of the quality (I suspect the quality will not match the price). She says these are gorgeous but the zipper is a deal-breaker.

(I have already run a search on e-bay with filters for size, materials, lace-up and brands from this list.)

Help of any kind is much appreciated, thanks!
