I would, it's been proven that the B-die usually CL14 or CL15 is the best for Ryzen systems. There are tools out there to find B-die RAM, that or just go for these.

Good to know! After looking it seems like this would be the best deal for me: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XFT7DF9/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ANNSJU9W28Y9J&psc=1

I have the G.SKILL F4-3200C14D-16GFX 8 GB x 2 (Flare X Series DDR4 3200 MHz PC4-25600 CL14 Dual Channel) in an Asrock X370 Taichi.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XFT7DF9

Using the XMP profile and CL14 timings at 3200MHz every time I cold start the system the bios resets after 3 failed boot attempts. If I change the timings to CL15 then it boots fine.

Hopefully the next bios update for the Taichi will fix the problem.

I'm waiting on this to arrive for my new build.

Unfortunately, I bought earlier and at Amazon (when it was $249 each)

Ok thanks. To save me mucking around would something like this be a better bet?

Contact the people building your rig and have them order 2 of these kits. They aren't cheap, but they're guaranteed to run at rated speeds with ryzen.

Edit: the guys building your rig probably didn't know about ryzen ram issues until building your rig. It's an easy thing to miss as I don't recall it ever being this way before where ram just won't run at rated speeds on one brand of cpu's.

u/LiebesNektar · 2 pointsr/Amd

send it back then. I assume you bought it on amazon. Just send it back and go for this TridentZ (2 x 16 rgb) or this Flare X (2 x 8 no rgb).

u/BandidTwitch · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Yeah the 2700x would be a step up for sure specially with all the multitasking you do. I'd get a gigabyte x470 aorus or asus rog strix b450 as for ram I'd want 3200 c14 G.Skill flare that ram should work great with the 2700x, and get you the speed you want.

u/Phl00k · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Awesome build!!!

The only suggestion I might have would be to verify the memory is made with B-die chips.

Here’s an example: G.SKILL Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) AMD X370 Memory Model F4-3200C14D-16GFX https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XFT7DF9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5uKwCbDFJ6Y26

u/4ssyr · 2 pointsr/Amd

It'll run completely fine but won't overclock.

Fast memory bandwidth is highly beneficial for Ryzen. I'd advise going for a 3200 CL14 B-Die kit like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/G-SKILL-F4-3200C14D-16GFX-PC4-25600-Channel-Memory/dp/B06XFT7DF9

Title: [EU-DE][H] Ryzen1700/Vega 64 Build + Peripherals [W] Local Cash
Username: /u/Cavanus
Original Post:
Want to sell my PC as I don't use it anymore. Local pickup in Munich is absolutely preferred as all this would be expensive to ship even domestic and there is a likelihood of components being damaged. Also much prefer to sell everything at once, but you are free to PM offers for individual components, nonetheless I'll wait a bit first. Asking price is 1300 for everything, negotiable to a small extent, looking for a quick sale.

If I'm missing anything or you have any questions, let me know.

DISCLAIMER: I have mined ETH with this PC for around a month in total, under a week continuous. Card was HEAVILY underclocked staying at a consistent 70C with fan speed under 1600RPM. Other than the month it mined in total, the pc has been barely used, just a handful of times for games. I no longer have the screenshot of the settings it ran at, but I have the configuration so if you want to know I can check again.

CPU has been running stock for most of the time, currently it's at 3.7 locked on all cores in the bios with no changes to voltage. I haven't tried really overclocking as it's on the stock cooler. Memory has always been running at 3200Mhz and Cas 14, have not tried tinkering with it either.

I have the original receipts, boxes and documentation for almost everything, currently do not have the box or spare cables for the PSU, but I can have my old roommate send them to me.

The main components were all bought within 2017, none have been registered for warranty. Keyboard is a few months old, Monitor was bought in early 2017, the Mouse is the oldest of everything at about 4 years or so, but it still functions as is, you can replace the battery if you want since it's just a single double A.

Not sure if it will be useful to you since I have a Crosshair VI Hero, but I use 4 sticks of Flare X (F4-3200C14-8GFX) at 3333 MHz. Again, I use them in a Crosshair VI Hero.

u/Dathouen · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

This is a pretty solid build, but the only critique I have is of the RAM choice. Look specifically for DDR4 RAM with CL 14 (latency) and a frequency of around 2733. IIRC Ryzen chips have been shown to work best with lower CAS latency, since it lets them take full advantage of the Memory Fabric.

Here's an Amazon option: G.Skill Flare X 2x8 GB 3200 MHz CL14 RAM - $129.99

If you don't mind going to newegg: G.Skill Trident Z 2x8 GB 3200 MHz CL14 RAM - $124.99

They also can both be overclocked/tinkered with if you like, but they come out of the box with pretty good speed and timings.

u/KYRickyP · 1 pointr/AMDHelp

I went with this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XFT7DF9/ref=od_aui_detailpages02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's pretty great so far. Had to change the frequency in the bios, however. Initially only read at 2400MHz.

u/goosebump · 1 pointr/buildapc

G.SKILL Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) AMD X370 Memory Model F4-3200C14D-16GFX Pricey but seems to be working for people out of the box and if they don't, I'll just return and keep the Corsair.

u/fallopian_tubesock · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

So I put 2x8 GB ram into an AMD 2600x system last year (motherboard is an ASRock X470 Master SLI/AC AM4, if that matters). Got G.Skill Flare X C14 B-die because at the time I read Ryzen likes the stuff. Link to the RAM

I do not overclock. So perhaps overkill, but that's what I have.

Anyway I want 16 GB more and am not sure what to get. Should I get something like post, more C14 b-die, so it's similar to what I have?

Comments here say Ryzen has gotten better (a BIOS thing, or newer chips?), and suggest instead C16 3200mhz like this: Team 2x8gb C16

Just not sure what I should do. I still don't plan to overclock, I would rather pay less than more, but don't want to "water down" my existing RAM. In other words, I wouldn't want to add C16 RAM and lose performance because maybe my system would step down to that lowest common denominator. I just don't know how mistmatched RAM works, though, hence the question.

Appreciate any insight here.

u/_nosuchuser_ · 1 pointr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

I'd go with faster memory myself. Built a similar machine with a 2600x for a friends son with a £1200 budget and went with this stuff: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XFT7DF9/?tag=pcp0f-21

Really good timings.

u/damaged_goods420 · 1 pointr/nvidia

Those for sure aren't b die, but if it's hard to get in your country it would do, just not optimized.

I found this kit on Amazon, but not sure of your budget.

u/roondogg14 · 1 pointr/sffpc

Thanks for the advice! I’m not familiar with b die RAM. Is there an option you’d recommend? Was able to find this with a google search, but not sure how it compares.

On your point about the 3600 vs. 3600x - are you suggesting I can get comparable performance for less by overclocking the less expensive processor?

Lastly for the b450 I’d read that there were compatibility issues with the 3600 series chips. Is this no longer an issue?

Thanks again!

u/Tylertooo · 1 pointr/buildapc

I got G.Skill Flare X 3200 C14 since I'm building a Ryzen system and have had great results with it in the past. Essentially, any 3200 MHz RAM with timings of 14-14-14-34 will be B-die. There are other flavors that are clocked higher. Here's a partial list of other modules. I have read of recently released kits clocked in the 4000+ MHz range that are useful for the latest Ryzen CPUs. Hope this helps!

u/zhrooms · 1 pointr/starcitizen

> Price on top tier ram kits is bonkers atm tho :/

Literally Top Tier RAM: €190 on Amazon.co.uk for 3200MHz 14-14, they are just as fast as my sticks, very good price. RGB costs €230 from Germany.

Just examples, you can get them cheap!

Powerful build for gaming, i would go for different ram though, i have had issues with corsair vengeance ram with Ryzen. I would look for something with cl14 if i were you, something like this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/G-SKILL-F4-3200C14D-16GFX-PC4-25600-Channel-Memory/dp/B06XFT7DF9

Samsung b-die @ 3200 with CAS 14 (at least) timing is the RAM you want.

Here is a better deal for the same price: https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Flare-288-Pin-Memory-F4-3200C14D-16GFX/dp/B06XFT7DF9/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1536593608&sr=8-6&keywords=3200+C14

For the RGB fan: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820236442

Timing 14-14-14-34

Both of these are the same price or lower than what you have.

Here's one that is better and will save you QUITE a bit of money, but I'm not sure about their customer support with great timings 14-14-14-31 and is Samsung B-die: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313712 or https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313711

What do you think about this ram?

I had to get it since the website i was buying it from was out off the ripjaw ram. Also i saw that they were made for amd and they looked good in benchmarks.

u/Machiavelcro_ · 0 pointsr/buildapc

You haven't seen prices lately, have you? Memory has tanked, you can buy 3200 at the same price as 3000 if you look a bit

Case in point:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BJJK753/?tag=pcp0f-21

Hyper X HX432 3200 - 2x8gb £74

** EDIT **

As zenthroaway17 mention, i had misread this.

Low latency 3200 is still not cheap, best i could find was:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XFT7DF9/?tag=pcp0f-21

G.SKILL F4-3200C14D-16GFX - 143.99

Samsung B die, some people have clocked these beasts quite high, but yeah roughly a 60% premium for the privilege

u/garra1810 · 0 pointsr/buildapc

Can you squeeze your wallet and get those? Or the cl14 version of tridentz?

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XFT7DF9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_jbJ1Bb13XS5AS

Latency is pretty important. If you get the cl14 wuould be better. (not from another world, but it will be better) if not. Cl16 are pretty nice. I got cl14 tridentz rgb from amazon warehouse (refurbished) and they will reach me tomorrow, from 214€. 2x8gb. Maybe you can find something similar. Here in spain tech stuff are more expensive than in USA. I don't know about canada.
