Built my rig in 2014 thanks to this subreddit but my graphics card is really showing it's age.
I currently have Gigabyte R9 270X GDDR5-2GB 2xDVI/HDMI/DP OC Graphics Card and I want to upgrade to something in the price range ~$300.
I have been so out of the loop I would really appreciate any feedback.
Let me just say that League is a really easy game to run at max settings.
You should be able to achieve this with an AMD processor and appropriate mobo.
Finish this with an R9 270X and you're saving a handful of cash.
Maybe the parts are slightly dated but it is something to consider if you want to save a bit.
This should do it for League at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 60fps.
If you would like to stick to what you already have, maybe start with only one stick of ram (8GB should be plenty) and get a similar tier GPU as mentioned above.
I do have a question though. if i were to look at the r9 270x, is brand important? http://www.amazon.com/MSI-R9-270X-DisplayPort-PCI-Express/dp/B00FR6XP6I/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1416863761&sr=1-1&keywords=r9+270x

are they the same card just different brand?
I would say an R9 270x is the best card for a $200 budget.
Gigabyte R9 270x.
You're next best option would probably be a GTX 660 which is slightly cheaper.
Gigabyte GTX 660.
MSI GTX 660.
