Your impreza uses H11 lowbeam bulbs, correct? You can safely use H9 bulbs (which require you to trim the small tab on the inside of the plug at the base of the bulb in order to plug in to the vehicle harness), which will produce significantly more light, and are optically compatible. They arent a higher wattage lamp, either, they're just more efficient.

For the osram or this link, gm part #10351666 for a toshiba bulb rebranded for GM.

Steer clear from LED "drop in" bulbs. None of them, despite what they'll try to sell you, are compatible with your lamps. They may also be significantly higher output than the H11 halogens, but they are not focused the same, and will result in increased foreground light and extremely increased glare for oncoming drivers. They also tend to be very high in kelvin/color temp (5000 -6000k) which will mean they will refract their light quite readily in inclement weather, making it harder for you to see.

Also check your headlamps aim. Here is the best article I have found on this topic (and Daniel Stern is something of a lighting professional). https://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html
