I had a lot of problem with my core HR monitor at first also. I bought a strap like this one and since then it has been perfect for over 2 years. This strap connects a little different and it made the world of difference for me. Good luck.

This happened to me a few times after about 3 months after getting a chest strap. I ended up getting a new chest strap on Amazon which is a little different - and Ive not had the problem since.

I highly recommend this strap from Amazon: Polar strap
