What kind of tables will you use? Round or rectangle ones? I used a golden silk paper table runner for my 30th birthday party (my picture, product picture). I paid 1โฌ per roll, so very affordable. I had a buffet, too, and the runners held up very well all night long, and I as even able to reuse some of them. Amazon has them as table cloths that you could cut apart and use as place mats.
From my experience with events, paper doilies will look pretty bad after a very short time, so I do not recommend going that route.
