My dog did something similar to that, except with crap.

He was young and had diarrhea overnight and couldn't hold it and didn't know to wake me up. So he tracked prints throughout my apartment. Fortunately I had the flu at the time so I wasn't able to smell it.

No pics (thank god) but I will say that the this is the best carpet cleaner in the world.

I like the old fashioned type Hoover's. They are simple machines. Don't have a lot to go wrong. The only time I see them for repair is when they need a turbine. (Makes the brushes spin.) The parts about $25 plus labor. I've seen 10+ yo units come in just needing some general maintenance.

I know people are going to argue but we are taught that you do not need heat to clean your carpet.(I've been in the business 10 years.) The heat is what causes the Bissell to clog so much. And getting into those to unclog them really suck. If you can find a janitorial store their carpet shampoo and stain removers are way superior to what you can find in the big box stores.

Edit: Always keep the receipt. Companies are really starting to crack down on warranty work. We have to have a receipt to scan in when we file a claim. Otherwise it will be denied. We can't do anything on our end. We are at the mercy of the companies.

FYI you can buy full-size carpet cleaners for about $150. If you are renting every couple of months you should just buy one. I have one of these and it works pretty well (I just had a new tenant move into my house a few weeks ago and she actually commented on how clean the carpet was in her room). You can also get carpet cleaner concentrate for pretty cheap. One of those bottles has been enough for me to go over 3 different rooms (one of them I went over twice) as well as a hallway. I still have about half of it left.

This is the one I recommend. It's super simple to use and maintain. I usually tell my customers to run hot water through their system once they're done using it. If its going to be a long while before you use it again a little white vinegar won't hurt either. It gets rid of the soap and hard water build up.

There's http://camelcamelcamel.com/popular for Amazon products? It does show "hot" products and when you search for an individual item it'll show the last like 8 months of price changes (on Amazon, of course). since you have a good amount of pets, if your new place has carpets you really need a good steamvac to protect those carpets and keep your house looking new! if you're like me and can't afford that, this folex carpet cleaner spray seriously works like magic. I have two ferrets which sometimes poop in the corner behind my door and I thought it was a lost cause but this brought my carpets back to normal. totally worth it!

You may want to try this. I own one and it is great, I actually just used it to clean my couch last night. It comes with a special upholstery attachment. I think the key to cleaning a MOHEDA is doing the entire cushion instead of spot cleaning.

I have a couple of options, but they cost money. I think I have the same civic as you, mines a '10.

I got one of these (amazon link to a Hoover steamvac carpet cleaner) and it comes with an upholstery attachment. It works very well, but it's hard to shove into corners and crevices. You can get foaming carpet cleaners at the grocery store and use a brush, alternatively, that would get into those spaces. The difficult part then would be drying everything. So then you could use the Hoover to suck out the water as much as you can, since that's what it's designed for.

I also got a shop-vac, a 5.5hp, or maybe it was 4.5, I forget. It's BETTER than the vacuums at car cleaning places, I swear, and it was only 80 bucks. I highly recommend that. And since it's a shop-vac, it can clean up wet stuff, but the hoover has a better attachment for sucking water out of upholstery IMO. Anyway, I couldn't live without the shop-vac now. I clean everything with it, spills, dust, wasp nests, everything.
