HORI makes some pretty cool cases. I just picked up this retro 8-bit Zelda case about a month ago. I love it so far. They even make a Mario and Luigi variation. All of them have space for six games and an extra stylus slot.

The charging cradle is great, unfortunately it leaves you unable to put a case on the new 3DS. If you want to protect it from scratches, you can use a skin. There are clear skins if you want to preserve the look of your 3DS. If you want to change things up a bit, you could buy a skin with a design, or design your own. I made this one at decalgirl.com. If you don't want a full skin, there are some cool decals to be found on ebay and etsy.

If you want a pouch, most made for the older 3ds XL will fit the new one. There are simple ones like this from Hori. It is currently available in all black or with various graphics (Zelda, Mario, NES controller), and it also has room for 6 game cartridges. If you want something fancier, there is the popular city slicker and gear pouch pro from sfbags, or you could get something custom from etsy.

As for screen protectors, the new 3ds xl has the same size screens as the older model, so any screen protectors that fit the old xl will work.

Cases that fit over your 3ds while you use it, like the HORI TPU cases, will obviously not fit. There is a new version of them coming out though.

I have an 8 Bit Zelda case that holds 6 games. I also have a 64 GB SD card in my 3DS. I tend to buy single player games physical but multiplayer games digital so it's always with me and I can throw down with my son at a moment's notice.

It is OOS right now, but I ordered mine when it was OOS and got it within two weeks. They are really nice.

I use a Hori clear duraflexi NN3DS case with my Majora's Mask 3DS, and I keep it in Hori's retro Zelda zipper case. The duraflexi slips on and off real easy and cleans really easy, and it shows off the MM paint job really well. I also got a Hori screen protector, and if it gets scratched too much I just replace it; doesn't leave any residue. Hori makes good shit.

I didnt care for that one to be honest. I went with this one.

I have a N3DSXL and use This Case... understandably you probably wont want link but my SO has the pikachu version... anyways I can fit my N3DSXL, 6 carts, and my USB wire in the case nicely... though I have a travel Port in my backpack at all time for charging cell phones, ipads, and my 3ds when needed
