ENJOY!
*edit: I absolutely WOULD include my book as a beginner book--sorry for any confusion!
One of the finest sonnet writers of all time is Edna St. Vincent Millay. A joy to read her! Many contemporary poets write sonnets too. Marilyn Hacker. A. E. Stallings. A fun and fabulous collection of contemporary sonnets is "Hot Sonnets": http://www.amazon.com/Hot-Sonnets-Moira-Egan/dp/0980099994/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1427212969&sr=1-1&keywords=Hot+Sonnets
